You had quite a few double 1s it seemed, which didn't help. I would also try and play less bashy with welfs. It worked well our first game (because my delfs never wear armour), but I think the second is more typical of elfs that bash.Originally Posted by cyberpunkdreams

Just to be clear, I wasn't complaining about that game itself! I think I was relatively unlucky and would have been happier to limit it to 3-1 rather than 4-1, but it was a fair result and game overall (and I still had fun). I do have a tendency to be bashy with my welfs, which I think comes from a drop in confidence in the agility game (also, being down one catcher early in the game limited my offensive options). However, I've spent a bit of time recently working on probabilities so I'm more confident about that again. I've also done some probability work around passing, which has been interesting.
My losing streak has been with all my teams though, not just welfs. I think the real root of my problems recently has been with defensive set-ups. I've been using a deep defence all the time, for no real reason... I think it was used against me once very successfully and I thought, "aha!" and adopted it without really thinking. Time for a change.
I'd be up for a game this evening, maybe around 6:30/7:00pm BST.

Nevertheless I am wringing my chaos-armoured hands in anticipation.

No worries, I played Gorm as well last night ;). 2-0 loss for me, but still felt like a tight game. I'd be up for a game this evening, anyway.
When does the next season of the Open begin? I'd like to transfer one of my teams in. I figure that Welfs will be full, but my dwarf and human teams are coming along.
3 games left this season, so maybe a little over a month until the next.

So, after getting my WoE crushed by cyberpunkdreams and then Everblue, I fired the entire team in frustration and did a merry jig on the ruins of their HQ.
Then I rolled an Elf team and reapplied to the league. I'm tempted to pick a bashy team and enter that as well.
I should be around for a game this afternoon. Got a few of my Chaos players on the cusp of earning skills other than Block now, so it's finally getting interesting.
I'm applying with an undead team. I've got a slightly optimsitic idea to level them quickly and try to get them in the open in time for next season.
