The Internet Archive is at it again!

First it was arcades and consoles now it's DOS. DOS! Now this is something we can really get behind. Better get out those manuals it's going to ask us what the first letter of x word in y line on z page number is. Let's not debate the legality of this, it's obviously not so instead let's talk about games that we have discovered on here like how I discovered that four levels of Catacomb 3-D is all I can take. Also there's VGA Miner, Wolfensteins and about a dozen Super Solvers games which is basically my primary school days revisited. I'll have to do a search for CD Man and Mc. Kids to see if they got those too.

    This is so totally awesome!

I loved Catacomb 3-d back in the day.

Not to debate the legality or the ethikality ;-) of it, but I do just worry that it's related to the Internet Archive. The Internet Archive is a very useful resource, and I hope they don't end up getting taken down due to getting blitzed by publishers over something like this.

When they did the arcade games (and spectrum games??) I realised that I was happy it existed, but I couldn't actually enjoy any of the games.

No CD Man or Mc Kids and No Bio Menace and Secret Agent either. Stunts needs the manual because questions. Falcon 3 won't even fucking work similarly to Captain Comic 2. Blake Stone gives me a red screen whenever I'd get past the briefing for each episode. Dangerous Dave and his stupid haunted house for dumb babies won't give me candy no matter how many tricks I'm willing to pull. Oh man this SUCKS. Oh well, at least God Of Thunder works and there's always Duke Nukem to kick around when I get bored.

Tried to play this and every time I try to drive it tells me that I forgot to disable the car alarm system and that causes the windshield to crack O.O

Lol. I wish the controls were a little more obvious :D

I didn't have a PC as a kid, going through some of these are really fun. I imagine my parents viewing these as 'computer games' and wondering how I can talk so much about games now a days.

Holy shit snacks, they have Centurion - Defender of Rome. It's basically Total War before there was Total War. I played the everliving fuck out of this game back in the day. Good times.

I heard you can't save in any of them. Is that right?

On the browser it's not feasible, unless they used localStorage. Server-side is prohibitive.

I guess on the one hand that makes it much more of a historical archive than something dodgy. On the other hand it might make a lot of the games unplayable.

If you REALLY like a game, DOSbox is your friend. I think they have links to it somewhere.

No Dark Sun :( Nobody ever has Dark Sun. Why must life be so cruel and unforgiving? On the plus side, they have at least two of the Eye of the Beholder series.
