Psychonauts Update! Mac support,Achievements,XToy360 pad support...

Apparently Tim Schafer had the publishing rights for Psychonauts for the last 3 months and yesterday they released an update for the steam version adding SteamPlay, Achievements, sort-of-HD models and textures, native support for XBOX360 gamepad and I would say some other general updates and fixes. No news about retail & GOG versions...

It's way too late in here so I just drop this links here. Sorry.

The best thing in the entire update.

Looks like I need to pick this up in Steam at some point.
Give me steam and how you feel to make it real.

Steam-only patch? I hope not, I'd rather like to get it for my GOG and 5CD versions.

This is a rather awesome and unexpected bit of news. Psychonauts is one of those games that I never played the first time around, and since picking it up in one of the Steam sales it's been sat in my games list unplayed, partly due to the worry about how well it holds-out on newer systems.

I wonder if this means a sequel is on the cards?

Apparently they are waiting for a publisher to step up. My bet is that they want to please Valve with this update...

I'm already quite a bit in love with VALVe; publishing Psychonauts2 would make me propose to Gabe.
Sure, I can't have his children, being male and all that, but surely we could just adopt some?

Exactly my question. Only updating the Steam version would be... distasteful.

Yes, and also for those of us with a boxed copy. I bought it week of release! I'm a loyal customer blah blah. Would be nice for me to get the patch too.

I kind of like the fact that there's now finally a justification for buying a game you already own on Steam when it's ridiculously cheap...

What they seem to have missed are the icons if you're using the xbox-controller. There's a guy on the Steam-forums working on that now it seems (here)

    Hooray for pc-gaming!

I tried the updated version today and I noticed that.

Bit of a half-arsed effort, in my opinion. I'm glad my 360 controller works, but I wish they'd put in just a little bit more effort with getting the UI looking better. I've noticed the game also removes AA whilst paused, applying it again after. That's bizarre.

The unofficial patch mentioned is still in the works, plus the guy doing it seems a bit of a dick, so I think I'll forgo it and just shake my fist at Double Fine.
