    GTA: San Andreas stuttering problems.

Hey, I recently got the complete gta pack in that deal on gamer's gate, but when I've tried running san andreas I've ran into some serious problems: Every 5 seconds or so, the game hiccoughs and the visuals freeze for around half a second, which is extremely annoying. I've tried turning on an off mip mapping, changing the quality from high to low, reducing draw distance, nothing seems to stop it, and it's making the game basically unplayable. My system specs are pretty god damn high, I could run Human revolution on max, so why is a 7 year old game giving me such hassle?

    Specs:
    Intel i5 2500k
    Radeon 6870
    Windows 7 64 bit.
    4gb DDR3 ram.

    Thanks for any help!

Because Rockstar couldn't do a good PC release if their life depended on it, perhaps? ;)

Have you tried changing drivers? Is your game up to date, too? There's patches on the Rockstar site IIRC.

It's patched up to 1.01, which i think was the only one? I haven't found any others anyway. This may sound noobish, as i'm new to this pc gaming lark, but how would i change drivers? It's up to date in the steam add on, where would i go to get older ones?
