Recently I have been listening to The Leisure Society, Tune-yards, Okkervil River, Fleet Foxes and Marissa Nadler.
Once the CDs are out and arrive I'll be listening to Gang Gang Dance, Dananananaykroyd, Emmy the Great, Bon Iver, The Arctic Monkeys and Fucked Up.
The soundtrack to the various seasons of Battlestar Galactica at the moment, since it's remarkably good music to work to (I write content for a website). I've never been able to write while listening to music with words.

Movie soundtrack stuff by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis (no, not the comic writer, as I recently discovered). They provided music for The Proposition, The Assassination of Jesse James... and The Road. It's all rather haunting and intensely atmospheric but it's balanced out by the gorgeous sunny weather we're having at the moment.
Andrew Jackson Jihad, discovered them yesterday and I just can't stop. Amazing thing.
Generally its Coconut Records. Interspersed with some Bonobo, Bibio, Tallest Man on Earth and James Yorkston.
I'm currently listening to The Complete Smiley on iPlayer. Beautiful adaptations of fantastic stories about a character that I really enjoy.
