Open-faced sandwiches are upon you whether you would risk it or not.
The production on this entire album is sublime. Apparently Virginia-based, but wouldn't be out of place on Brainfeeder or Stones Throw:
I'm in the mood for some F-Zero and I think the MTS cover of (probably) the most fondly remembered theme of that game is just sublime
And man, most of their covers are great in The Transmitter album

Bah! My blog is fulla bollox! What? Don't believe me?Here! Just look at it!
Dan Deacon has a new album out. Nothing on it tops "Crystal Cat" (which is maybe the best song ever?), but it's still pretty good:
Here's Crystal Cat if anyone still hasn't heard it. Like I said, pure awesome. Just when you think it can't get anymore intensely gleeful, it one ups itself. It's like what I imagine having 12 orgasms on speed must be like:
Train- Drops of Jupiter!
And the exciting releases keep coming.
I'm listening to the music of Damian Marley as of now.
Was at Bestival this weekend.
Absolute best bits included Stevie Wonder playing the hits, Sigur Ros playing some of my favourites and Justice doing what Justice do.
Also great were Django Django, Field Music, Bats for Lashes, 2 Bears, Caribou/4 Tet DJ set, De La Soul and (somewhat surprisingly) Alabama Shakes.
Sadly missed Hot Chip due to immense tiredness, SBTRKT due to immense crowdedness and was just too far away from The xx to properly enjoy their set.
Oh and I also found a great musical comic (not for the easily offended). She had me in stitches with this:
Superb few days would definitely go again, some of the Wildlife based fancy dress was incredible!
I would like to add JJ DOOM/DOOM, Buraka Som Systema and Roots Manuva to the list of fantastic shows at Bestival. The Arcadia stage was also brilliant, with the best sound system of the weekend (Funktion One is the best!)
Lots of good DJ sets all over the place, DJ Derek played an amazing swansong, Scratch Perverts were a bit disappointing mind..
Arcadia was pretty awesome (hello crazy guy standing on top of a massive pole ridiculously high up). Though I do remember being irked by some DJ who decided that playing "Walking in Air" seemed like a fantastic idea (we were camped fairly close by).
Kind of sad I missed DOOM (also the Cuban Brothers looked like good fun and Bellowhead clashed with Sigur Ros/Stevie) but such is the way of festivals.
some stoner rock coz what the heck
