New Janelle Monae! Woo! Etc! Eryka Badu in tow! Why not!

    http://www.jmonae.com/queen

Much like the new Daft Punk, I really like it but am not quite as blown away as these acts have the potential to do. But like Daft Punk this has me excited for (a presumably) forthcoming album.

EDIT - just listened again with headphones rather than crap speakers in my lab and I've undersold it. It's awesomely funky and brilliant.

OOO that Janelle Monae is so a great funky song.

Listening to The Terror by The Flaming Lips...its a bit depressing and makes you inside a mind of someone so incredibly depressed and alone that I can't help but cry and feel a bit crappy. Its fantastic

Taking a rare venture over to planet metal.

I think this is helped by the fact they are singing in Norwegian - it means that I have no clue if they are singing some highly objectionable crap or generic cod fantasy nonsense these bands can sometimes be prone to!

No it means I judge them by their riffs and solos (which are excellent) and the music just having a feeling of being an exuberant rallying cry. Great stuff.

It's great. Definitely recommended for people who like a bit of hard/classic rock but end up put off by a lot of metal music (as I am one of those people), massive crossover appeal if I'm any judge.

Made sure to listen to Radio 2 earlier as they were playing KT Tunstall's new single. Didn't disappoint. That said, I wouldn't say I'm in love with the chorus, even though I really enjoy the verses. It's a similar problem I had to a lot of the tracks on the previous album too, but hopefully this is just a blip and the whole thing is still really good.

The video though? It's...a little stark. Captures the mood though, I guess.

Ooh, nice I kind of forgot about KT amongst all the other big name news recently. Very nice.

Not only is there a new Boards Of Canada album (announced in a way that was even more obtuse than Daft Punk's trailer drip feeding but definitely more intriguing - not that I'm into that internet investigation malarkey but it shared a lot of vibes with all that palaver when Portal 2 was released) due in June but Neutral Milk Hotel have announced a tour (no UK dates as yet but here's hoping) and are sticking some unreleased gubbins on Bandcamp along with a nice vinyl collection that I would have been tempted by if I didn't already have In the Aeroplane Over the Sea on vinyl - http://walkingwallofwords.com/releases.html

All I need now is for the Delgados to reform for me to suffer terminal excitement overload!

I can't make out everything but as far as I can tell it's just an angry rebellious rock song, no need to worry. The title means "The bridges burn".

I've been going through old CDs this morning, came across this which is one of the better things to come out of Scandinavian "folk rock" in the 90s.

Very dark new video for a radio edited (3mins down from around 6!) new QOTSA song.

Between this and My God Is The Sun...yeah, I'm pretty excited for the new album.

I was so hyped for this, but after these 2 songs I'm not anymore. I mean this will be solid album, but I expected something more experimental, especially when they have Elton John and Trent Reznor (I'm huge fan of Nine Inch Nails) on one record.
