I just can't get over the way it seems to be about rebellious teenagers having fun and not giving at shit, but then expressed with the most banal music imaginable. The video looks like a rave sponsored by Topshop or something.

Christ at least the Prodigy kept a bit of their hardcore roots when they were going pop and telling everyone to get fucked in the charts. If they're 90's bitches they seem to have forgotten all about it.

...and I sound like an old man.

The new Lulu Rouge album is everything the second Trentemller album should have been.

It's on iTunes and Spotify (depending on where you are from). No physical release announced yet, though.

Well, are you? I am "only" 32, but more often than not I catch myself rambling about today's mainstream music like my old grandfather.

I've been listening to Discipline a lot lately. Proper progressive rock where mellotrons are still mellotrons, bass players do solos and songs are at least ten minutes long. To Shatter All Accord sounds like Van Der Graaf Generator in their prime with a dash of King Crimson and yet it sounds oddly modern. The heart of the album is the 24-minute epic Rogue. I don't know many longtracks that are better than this. Dark, hypnotic and full of those subtle moments that reward repeat listenings. It's not an easy album but definitely a grower. Hell, I had it lying around for over a year after it was on multiple top lists back in 2011 and I couldn't see why.

I'm sometimes a bit snobby about covers but I can't fight the fuzz:

Bloody hell! I knew Tiamat changed their sound, but that's a bit further into the Gothic rock territory then I remember.

It's a bit too modern rock than what I expect my favourite chiptune would sound like in a guitar cover. Not enough of that 50s/80s rock mix in this, imo but it's a good cover nonetheless.

Oh? "I Love It" is one of the best pop songs of 2012 imo.

My cock of a brain is playing this for me, over and over again in my head. Anyone got tips on how to get rid of weird earworms?

Tiamat changed sound every couple of albums, I guess only a small portion of fanbase likes anything newer than Wildhoney. Standing in line among people 10-15 years older than me I thought even mentioning new records would get me beaten to death by bald overweight guys in their 40's.

Anywayz, I'm not big into metal.

To the extent that I've never heard a version I didn't like, this is my favorite cover of this song.

Thanks for this. I like the original song and have never heard of this band before but it's a good atmospheric cover.
