I just discovered Daniel Johnston. He's this schizophrenic dude who did a bunch of awesome home piano and organ recordings on a tape deck in the early 1980s. He also did more professional stuff later on which is OK, but his early stuff is best. Hearing him really allows me to make sense of alot of the indie bands from the past 15 years or so, especially anti-folk people. He seems to have been hugely influential.

My current favorite song of his:

I really do think Arjen Lucassen is a genius, anyone who likes prog metal should seriously check out his stuff.

Crazy Spirit - S/T. It's like a more fucked up take on Bad Brain's good songs.

Now, this one from Fall of Because before they went on have themselves called Godflesh, instead. This one sounds rather... sinister. I'm surprised if this one comes out way back in the 80s because this sort of thing sounds like Trent Reznor does with NIN, imo

Something about Broadrick's metal outings never sat well with me. Maybe it's the downright prodigious nature of his work; Aphex Twin somewhat intimidates me in that regard too. I do enjoy a couple Techno Animal songs, though:

Shame that The Bug blew up and went on to make shitty, shitty music instead of more Techno Animal... Though Martin's recent output on Hyperdub has been more to my tune.

Yeeeeeup. Same with Ministry, for me. I could stand Devastator, but man, Streetcleaner... I felt a bit uncomfortable listening as he started the vocals.

Never heard of Techno Animal, though. That one was pretty good.

Daniel Johnston is quite great, though he's one of those artists that I have a hard time introducing to people as he's more than a little out there at times. It's amazing how many times his stuff has been covered, with varying amounts of success. One of my favourite songs by him is with a great cover by TV on the Radio

    EDIT:

I'll also recommend checking out The Devil and Daniel Johnston, a documentary about him.

What an infernal earworm. I can't remember how the song goes when I try to hum it, but if I don't think about it, it'll strike like a hook and won't leave my head for a week. Damn.

    God I miss the late 90's - early 2000's Blink 182 - Sum 41 type music.
I hate side quests. If you can't be bothered to write a decent enough story to fill a game, then just hire a writer that can. Enough of these filler quests that really turn an interesting game into a grind.

The ORIGINAL Hypocrisy - Apocalypse. The newer version is not too bad either.
