Tropico 3's soundtracks are surprisingly nice if you like salsa

Oh my fuck. Commence solid month of FlyLo.
Parov Stelar for me, after it was on the weekly Castle Story devblog:
One thing I love about finding new music is going "I know who'll love this!". My facebook wall is currently dominated by a fullcaps message detailing someone's everlasting thanks for linking them this video.
"Swans are so big, they're like the Ostriches of the bird world"

Shines by Purity Ring is ethereal and beautiful and dreamy and amazing. My album of the year so far.
I'm so looking forward to this. Hopefully it will arrive on the day of release. Thanks for the stream, this one seems a lot more accessible than the last.
Have you seen this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pVHC1DXQ7U ? Gets insane from 2 min >

I have to shamefully admit I've let Flying Lotus pass me by up until now (only listened to a bit of Cosmogramma). New album sounds great though, time to jump in.
Yeah, the Flylo video is beautiful beyond measure. I've watched it like 20 times now. You guys might want to have a listen to the new album online: http://www.npr.org/2012/09/23/161299...he-quiet-comes
It's really great.
Flylo has passed me by as well.
I have to say giving the album a listen that . . . I'd either love it with repeated listens or it would be one of those albums that will crop up when I listen on shuffle, think "I have to give this another try," then abandon half way through. It really could be either way!
Y'all got me listening to FlyLo (thanks RPS) and damn, I could watch this all day

808s.
Bob Mould - Silver Age. Dear god what an album. Up there with anything he's done in Copper Blue and Husker Du days.
Here's Bob blowing the windows out on the Letterman show.
Just that solo around 2:30 has made me instantly happier than any music has this year. Love it when your heroes get older and just come back stronger.
He's touring in the US, playing Copper Blue straight through. It would make this old man very happy if they came to UK. One of the best (and loudest) gigs of my life was Sugar at Clapham Grand 1992, absolutely ferocious, they barely paused between songs, blew through Copper Blue and the then un-heard Beaster at gale force, the audience staggered out punch-drunk.

Just saw Aaron Goldberg live tonight. Totally crazy gig. They played this for like 20 minutes and did all kinds of amazing things with it.
That synthophilia reminds me of this hilarious little-known guy called Donny Benet; his whole awkward aethestic is fantastic:
He's also an actual genius:

Been waiting for this to get archived. Dusk + Blackdown Rinse FM show from last Thursday. Brilliant show as always, but this month was especially full of new producers to keep an eye on. Blackdown should have a tracklist up on his blog eventually.
apparently this, right now
