Bronson - I have no idea if this is style over substance to be honest because the film was fantastically weird. Tom Hardy was just great doing a performance that was really ledgendary and it made you guessing whether you should feel sorry for Bronson, hate him or what. It was very Clockwork Orange but it also had its own uniqueness to it and well the story was great, with lots of surprising humour to be honest and surprising turns and really bizarre moments. But still what did it say? I have no idea really...maybe there was something about a sad man that was a psycopath or could have made the right choice but never did at all and destroyed himself in the process...i don't know but it was interesting anyway!

No The Godfather? It's an easy choice but that shit's pretty intense as it goes on. It had some of the best scenes I've seen in a mob flick, especially The Don's death.

And I saw "It's Kind of a Funny Story" today and I liked it a lot. You might need a certain mind-set to enjoy it and I think I was exactly in the mood for a movie like that.
Eh. Make sure you watch the first Godfather with subtitles on.

Couldn't make up my mind about that movie either, it sure does make think about it a lot. To me it seems he had a sickness, an uncontrollably urge to inflict violence. He did try to be good for a very short period of time but he couldn't control his urges after all.

About an hour ago I fell asleep on the couch watching Captain America. Hell, it was my girl's idea to watch it and even she changed it when I was out cold. Not exactly a captivating movie.

Heh. When my girlfriend was here in May, we looked all over for that movie and couldn't find it (after we went to see The Avengers in the cinema). We got Thor instead. I fell asleep during that.

To think, I rented (wow, talk about some time ago) In Bruges with a couple of friends with none of us having any idea whatsoever about what it was like. It made up for the time when we rented Jumper. The swearing and general comedy of the film is great and it's acted so damn well.
My own ability to stay awake during a film is my preferred reviewing system. I've tried to watch Harry Potter and the Philospoher's Stone three times and fallen asleep in the first 30 minutes each time. I've taken this as a measure of the series as a whole and consequently haven't seen any of them.

Watching Mississippi Burning,oscar nominated movie from 1988,two good lead actors,Wiliem Dafoe and Gene Hackman. The story is about two FBI agents investigating the murder of civil rights workers during the 60s seek to breach the conspiracy of silence in a small Southern town where segregation divides black and white. Its pretty good so far.

The Hunger Games
Was this what all the hype vibe was all about? I bet it's another the books are way better because I thought it wasn't all that good. Seemed like a cheesy Battle Royale adaption to me, it was also a bit predictable.

I watched the LOTR extended Blu-Rays. It's the first time I saw the extended versions.
FOTR: one of the added scenes instantly became a favourite. Frodo and Sam see a group of elves preparing to leave Middle-earth. Truly magical! Another awesome addition is Gandalf's thunder-voice during the council. Unfortunately, FOTR has some really awkward scenes - like Galadriel's mirror or the shitty montage when Frodo arrives at Rivendell. The new colour grading is hard to notice or care about with the exception of one scene which really bothers me. It's a scene heavily featured in marketing: the ring falls in the snow and Boromir picks it up. I loved the bright, beautiful colours but the new grading makes it darker and less striking.
TTT: now my favourite of the trilogy. It's the most atmospheric of them all. Brad Dourif's scenes are pure gold, especially when he sheds a single tear at the sight of Saruman's army. I like Eowyn a lot and the extended edition adds more to her character, including a hilarious stew scene. A crucial scene with Faramir, Boromir and Denethor is added towards the end and it makes Faramir more interesting.
ROTK: now over four hours long and thankfully not much was added after the climax. I still don't understand why the Saruman scene was initially cut. Most new scenes are entertaining. I never liked the ending section but I still think it's better than the anti-climactic Scouring of the Shire. After seeing the wonders of Middle-earth, going back to the Shire is just so... empty. Unsatisfying. Fuck going home. In fact Tolkien's general resistance to change and love of pastoral life and nature always rubbed me the wrong way.

Just because you didn't think it lived up to its expectation doesn't mean it's overrated, it's your own fault for praising it too high before having seen the movie. Something being overrated doesn't mean anything to anyone but yourself. He enjoyed the movies and so did many others, it wasn't overrated to them.
