I finally watched The Cabin in the Woods and now know what the fuss is about. I quite enjoyed it, but kind of hoped that the final reveal would be Cthulhu. I guess one can't have everything.

I hoped that one Ood episode of Doctor Who would end up with Chtulu but seems like he's too great to show up on television/film.

Watched Guilty of Romance (恋の罪) (I suppose also translatable as 'Sin of Love', or 'Crime of Romance' or any variation of these) by the always interesting Shion Sono (2011).

The main story focusses on a housewife's descent into a world of pornography and prostitution - with all of Sono's usual lack of restraint. I don't think it's one of his better films, and there are of course plenty of similarities to earlier films like Luis Buñuel's Belle de jour (1967), but it's still a good watch. I'm going to try to get a copy of the longer (Sono has a problem with keeping his movies within a 2 hour timeframe) Japanese version, because most of Miki Mizuno's storyline was for some reason cut from the international version.
