Since LSK of Antaeus has apparently died in the past week, its time to blast Blood Libels loudly.

A pretender but the best pretender that I've heard yet.

Loving some Scottish Pirate Metal in the form of Alestorm.

Three great albums, the most recent of which includes a cover of The Wurzels "I'm A Cider Drinker".

A mate of mine knows Chris from Alestorm. Really dead nice bloke, and although I'm personally not a fan of the music, I do appreciate the weirdness factor!

Here's some Sigh. Japanese, jazzy, noir, brill.

Nope, if it's "pirate metal" it's Running Wild or nothing. All naysayers must walk the plank.

I watched all the videos on the front page, but it's time for bed. I'll be back tomorrow to continue the marathon.

Thanks for the shares everyone. I will think of some good contributions after I watch them all.

The complete opposite of all the death metal I posted on the previous page. This video's a mess but I really dig the vocals. The rest of the album ain't so bad either.

I have been listening to a lot of Arkona recently. I feel they rely on too much filler on their albums to pad out already massively long albums, but when they have a song that comes together, it really is a treat for the metal senses. The lead singer, Maria "Masha Scream" Arkhipova has a great vocal style and I am amazed a woman can let out such a deathly growl whilst also sounding spot on when the softer folk elements come in.

    Check it out...

There were a lot of great albums released this year but it was Satan's that took the top spot if you ask me.

Armour were one of the first of the new wave of eighties rehash bands that I heard and they've managed to find a longevity with me that most of the others never did. They're way cooler than Enforcer, they could totally beat up RAM and they aren't a boy band like In Solitude and Crashdïet. Vince Venom may have a voice that sounds like he came straight from the gutters of the Sunset Strip but they're a great band.
