Great stuff all around, nothing less to be expected from RPS folks. Fudge Tunnel may tickle your fancy.

    RPS thread + \m/ = WIN

Based on my previous 12 months of listening these are my METAL picks (Ufomammut and Alcest would have been in there too, but they've already been posted!).

The Gates of Slumber - Trapped in the Web
    My Dying Bride - Symphonaire
Mamaleek - The Hypocrite & The Concubine
    Naam - Kingdom (live)
    Cloudkicker - Dysphoria
The Puritan - The Blue And Purple Lesson In Love

And from my favourite (metal) album of the last few years:

And the craziness that is Portal:

Every fan of metal would do well to visit the Map of Metal.

And here is a combination of two great flavors:

Umm... Yes. This was basically what I was going to post.
    I absolutely love Kvelertak.

Classic Swedish death metal... one of best outro's from one of the best bands in the pantheon of death metal.

Gerbick- Portal, nice! I'm still trying to figure them out, frairly dense stuff..

Lurker of Chalice... although Wrest seems to be an utter fuck up with a disgusting attitude towards women, he did create music that I still enjoy...

Edit: Although I believe that the court case has yet to take place, so I could be wrong...

    neat!

haven't seen any of these mentioned yet:

subrosa does a pop drone lady metal thing that sound much better than that crap description

    dawnbringer is quite straightforward

riff salads and a silly name, but i like this album quite a bit
    http://youtu.be/yyeOvvojju4

today is the day has a new album coming out, which means i hope they get the guys who do red fang's videos to do something for them because all their other vids kinda suck

edit: it [almost] goes without saying that titd is a ridiculously amazing and unique band that's been both enhanced and crippled by monomania
    http://youtu.be/ziwfD5thl0g

cannabis corpse is the best dumb idea that became a great idea ever. vastly superior to the original in every way.

lo fi and "grimmness" is a thing with these one guy in a cape black metal acts, but this goes so far around the bend it's closer to pansonic than xasthur
    http://youtu.be/hB_Y0Xjbtcc

this is different than the others i.e. "i'm buzz the bunny/and i'm on tv/and i wish that i could die"

Portal certainly are interesting. Would love to see them live!

Wrest seems to be a rather nasty being, but as you say, his music is aces.

Oh and any UK-based RPSers, do you go to the Damnation Fest in Leeds? Been last 3 years, and it's always great.

Recently found out about Deadlock and I must say it's nice to find metal with a good female voice.

    Also a favorite...

These guys I've been listening to forever and I'm sure most metal fans are familiar with...

A friend of mine saw them two nights ago in Sydney, at this-

Hopefully they'll make it to the other side of the world sometime!

Very nice Opeth posting. They are so incredibly 'true to record' in their live performances. That post was pure joy to watch - and it's one of their best songs, in my opinion (second only to Harlequin Forest and Baying of the Hounds)
