Well enough Scandinavians did threaten to kill him on numerous occasions, even if that was in the early 90s.

I'll go with JDG from The Living Doorway on this one.

I mean, I know this type of stuff is 'fun' and all, but if I wanted "fun metal" I'd go listen to Deicide on Space Mountain. The real problem is that, much like 3 Inches of Blood, there is a very discernible veneer of FALSITUDE to these songs that I'm just completely unable to shake. Just like 3 inches of Blood probably wouldn't be much help in an epic orc battle, I'm dubious that Kvelertak would have your back in a bar room brawl. Since being false is the worst crime a metal band can commit, I'm throwing them to the hipsters by sentencing them to a lifelong "beard metal" tag.

Anyway, new DSO EP. Good stuff.

One band that nobody can doubt the trueness of was Usurper because they were hipster Kryptonite. It really sounds like some kind of black and death metal hybrid but it's actually classic heavy metal only monolithic in heaviness.

I don't like Kvelertak either, but what's with all the Baroness hate on that blog?

I remember someone telling me he had a sponsorship from Ibenez or something, and since he had a knockoff for most of the recording and photos, he got worried and covered up the make of his axe in all photos.

    Hipsters! Hipsters everywhere!
If people are opening up on hipsterism, consider the following; Black Metal is pure hipster from its birth. Its a music that's purposefully underground, it tries to look as alienated as possible, and it was doing this WAY before it got popular with any of those other guys.

Speaking of hipsterish black metal. Psychedelic black metal whatchamacallit. "Brings together hippies and church-burners", as they say by their own words. Not surprising, since the vocalist is from a psychedelic rock band called "Kuolleet Intiaanit" (Dead Indians).

Funniest thing that I've seen all week, especially the bit with the guitar, but only the second most horrifying thing. You might not live long enough to see "the guitar" though, you probably will have died from laughter by then but it certainly is a guitar that they've got there.

The first time I saw this I couldn't stop laughing for days but it did it's job, I was convinced that if I didn't have the album I would die.
