    Heroes of Annihilated Empires

    It looks rather interesting, if nothing else. Has anyone demo'd this yet? Apparently released in 2006, but I've heard nothing about it. Guess there might be several reasons why...

    It's not that remarkable. I tried to get into it a couple of times over the years, but it never really grabbed me.

    It looks pretty, but it tries to do everything and does nothing particularly well. The skirmish AI is very strange, the campaign is boring, the base building does nothing interesting, but none of those elements are extremely bad. Just very mediocre.

    I played the demo when it was first released, and from what I remember, it wasn't worth a purchase. Pretty bland gameplay, like Malawi said. It did have some interesting ideas though, so if I saw it on a Steam sale I'd grab it - but I think $15 is probably too much for a 5-6 year old RTS game that wasn't great to begin with.
