Well, in case the other post won't turn up, here's another report of the match between It Came for Dessert and Green Goopants.

The goblins attacked, but the trolls got confused instead. When a failed hand-off caused them to lose the ball near the LoS I got my halflings next to it. The secret weapons amounted to a fractured arm of a halfling. One particularly lucky halfling evaded the advances of a fanatic three or four times. By turn 3 or so, all of them were sent off or injured. Halflings scored in turn 7.

The second half saw the attack of the halflings. One treeman got half of the goblin team tied up trying to bring him down. Other halflings advanced through the sidelines and score the touchdown in turn 6. The highlight of the match was the Green Goopants' 1TTD. An out-of-bounds kick brought the ball to a goblin on the LoS. This goblin showed a really professional attitude towards the game as he kept on clinging to the ball as a troll picked it up. The troll who himself had a rare moment of perfect clarity, was not swayed by the linehalfling in the slightest as he threw the ball far into the opposition's half. The goblin, who had held on to the ball all this time, landed on his feet and sprinted over the goal line. The halflings' attempt in replicating this feat resulted in a miserable halfling with strained groin. For his outstanding performance in causing an injury, Deeproot Strongbranch was awarded the MVP.

End result: 2 - 1 for It Came for Dessert

Late afternoon early evening would be best for me if all other things are equal (though I can make later if that's no good for you), kick off between 16:00 and 18:00?

Okay, Moondogjazz, let's talk. I'll be horrifically busy this week with parties and events (yes, it's hard work, shush you all), so let's look at next weekend instead as we missed the last?

Hi Screwie, just remembered that I'll be out tomorrow night so I won't be around for a rematch unfortunately. I'll be free on Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday if you want to fit it in on a break from Guild Wars 2.

No probs. I think that'll probably be at the weekend and not Friday night, unless for some reason my PC decides it can't play GW2 ;)

Hi Moon, I skillfully forgot to ask you which 2 pm you meant - mine or yours?

I would like to petition the league associates to allow Skink teams, oh no not Lizardmen, just Skinks.

See, you are allowed full teams of Skinks, to me that's do-able.

    What say yee?

Well yea its a stunty cup and includes all the stunty teams that are available in LE, Lizards arent a stunty team so you've got the make the argument for them to be in. I suppose if they had no Krox then they'd be at a strength disadvantage so the speed might be okay.

Ogres are not a stunty team are they? But ogres minus ogre is the only way to field snots? Can I take an ogre team?

I guess I just want more options :p

As far as stunty players go, skinks are quite expensive. And they would have only one big guy. Maybe their high speed makes up for not being able to throw them :)

I think Screwie was looking into how fair a skink + krox team would be at the end of last season, but decided against letting them in for this. I'd be interested in seeing how they performed though - they're quite expensive compared to other stunties and the re-rolls cost a fortune, I'm not sure they'll be as good as they appear on paper.

So Moondog just met my rather expensive Goblin-team - and couldn't cope with the brutality of Littleballs the Move 4 fanatic.

After a flurry of (attempted) 1-turn-touchdowns at the end of the first half, it is 2-1 for the Shortstuff Stumblers. In the second half, everything that can go wrong for the Green Goopants goes wrong - their rare successful blocks don't even cause KO's, their dodges fail, doubleskulls are a per-turn event and their own armor is of Goblin craftsmanship.

There have been no eaten or deceased goblins, which is a wonder as a rather painful game ends 4-1 to the Stumblers.

What with Guild Wars 2 and some dramatic PC issues at the weekend I've been a tad pre-occupied!

Consider this an extension of the current "Day" deadline until Thursday night. :)

That's perfect, since ntw and I were planning to play our match on Thursday.

    Last weekend's game against NieA7:

In which my team is sent to the bench early and often, my best troll dies but regens out of it (thank god) and my AG 4 goblin Happy is killed. I was getting trounced 2-0 when the match DCed in the final turns and the results were never recorded.

Although I did offer to default the match and give him the 2-0 victory, NieA7 elected to have a proper rematch, which we played last night:

In which NieA7's team is sent tot he bench early and often and his best troll dies but regens out of it (thank god). I win 4-1, but Happy gets retired from a collar bone injury anyway, along with one of his squadmates (I did briefly consider running with three ST 1 goblins in the team for a laugh, but one is enough).

Seriously though, these matches were like night and day!

In my very first turn my fanatic had the best turn he's ever had, knocking down 3 enemies including his looney, injuring the looney (the first casualty SPP any of my fanatics have ever scored, ever), and making 2 GFIs without need of a reroll. Then my looney blitzed and injured another.

There was very little bomb-throwing as we were both seriously marking each others' bombardiers, but then late in the first half my bomber caught an opportunity to hit both NieA7's trolls in one blast - that's where his big guy bit the dust (temporarily).

A wild and whacky game, thanks NieA7. I fully expect to get my Nuffly comeuppance in our Open match later this week.... which is also goblin vs goblin, funnily enough.
