    Yes.
Fear 2 was one of the first big 3rd party games that required Steam and had really shitty integration. As in no extras, Steam was just DRM. Fthreear has the whole package - achievements, cloud, leaderboards, coop.

Yes. I bought it from Gamefly and I got a code to register on Steam.

Batman Arkham City is roughly 12.00 USD over at Gamersgate right now. Great deal if you managed to not bit at 15 dollars on Steam earlier.

Other batman games are on sale too, like Arkham Asylum for 5.00 USD and Lego Batman for 7. All use securom it appears.

I would have bought the game from the steam sale but GFWL.
Twitter! Occasional impressions on random sim games.

I think GFWL vs the enjoyment I got out of the game, then the couple of times the game had to restart because of GFWL updates, only at first, is well worth it. In the ~18h I sank into the game I had no more problems with it, once I start the game it loads and that's it. So for €9.50 (with IGN discount) it's well worth the price, IMO :)

Weird. Never had any problems with GFWL completing both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. I have heard the horror stories, though, of missing saves and weird updates.

Some people consistently have issues with GfWL, hence why they don't buy games with it in. Plus the only way to get the DLC is to use Microsoft's site.

Even I would prefer to use Steam in that case.

Not a bargain per se, but GOG just released Quest for Glory 1-5 for 9.99$, all together. Which is a pretty fair price.

I regreat buying the GFWL (disc) version of Arkham City. I wanted to grab some DLC for the game, and couldn't figure out how via GfWL, while Steam refused to believe I own the game. Bleh.

Will rebuy Arkham City via Steam eventually.

Even worse that the two versions aren't compatible - but at least Steam offers the DLC on its own. Oh well. Publishers and games shouldn't STOP me from trying to give them money...

Not really an issue as far as I care, really. There's plenty of games with Steamworks integration on Steam copies but not on others. Dredmor comes to mind, for example.

    Is what Steamworks?

  18. #3578
Sorry, I thought I was quoting... >.< I edited already. I was talking about Batman: AC. I would like to buy it on GamersGate, but I want it on Steam.

Buy it on Steam then, as it's only Steamworks if you buy it there.

Oh... I think I'll wait for the big summer sale, then, as it is a lot cheaper on GamersGate (with the IGN discount). ^^
