I think they just had one where they revamped the combat.
If graphics are not important why spend so much on a GPU?

I really urge everyone to buy King of Dragon Pass for $3 on GoG.
It's one of the best games of all time and an impressive showcase of procedural narration where you get immersed in incredibly well-written stories of betrayal, love, friendship I've yet to experience in another game... all that in a solid and uncomplicated management game.

It's all 2D static art with walls of text so it aged pretty well, the UI is a pleasure to use, and it's a masterpiece everyone interested in videogames should play in his life.

Looking at the GOG sale, is Strike suit zero worth the price, heard some mixed reviews on it?

I've only got the cut-down version (SSInfinity) and it's - well - it's not quite what I expected. It's clearly an arcade game at heart but the controls are quite 'space sim' and I really don't think the 2 things work that well together.

It's clear the developers have a massive passion for space games and have played them all but this is a game torn in too many different directions - it's trying to be too many things to too many people.

It's not actually BAD at any other them - neither is it outstanding at any - the modding system does kinda appeal to me but...

I'm not a huge fan of Strike Suit Zero personally, I haven't played it much but my initial impression was SOL: Exodus which was just feckin' horrible. It was at that point I put it down and went back to X3: AP, the combat may suck but at least there's more to the game than the combat. Also: Escort missions, or so I've heard.

Signal Ops, worth a squeeze at $5? Maybe just a nervously gentle and consensual fondle? I remember being intrigued but heard a lot of sighing about it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we need to talk about something.

A game which hides behind a well publicised exterior.

This game is Splinter Cell: Deniable Ops

Deniable Ops is a very good game, it has a cancerous growth like tutorial attached to it about a man who thinks his daughter was murdered by a shadowy conspiracy which will lead to him punching and shooting people. I don't recommend you bother with the tutorial. Had Deniable Ops been an indie game released without a Story chapter attached to it and the legacy of its previous iterations I'm sure it would be much loved darling of actiony stealth. It was not.

But in my fantasy world of reduced confirmation bias Deniable Ops is a stealth game with outstanding mobility, great gunplay and completely option coop and competitive modes. Sharp graphics, varied locations, reactive AI and no fat to cut, Its a bloody lean stealth-action experience. You can customise your game mode, equipment and level of challenge,it has a DLC which adds great levels and in my dreamworld it is available cheaply and readily to the masses.

There is a slight point of convergence with my alternate reality as Deniable Ops is currently 1.60(Apply coupon “GMG20-6WUSQ-LBC4U”) on Green Man Gaming (NON AFF) you can play the deniable ops mode without even looking at the story, i recommend you do, honestly its the superior experience. Its a great stealth game which feels and looks magnificent with a controller or a mouse and keyboard.

    edit: added coupon.

Seems to be unavailable in the States, which in my case is probably just as well. Do you write copy professionally?

I really do feel that positive about the game, its rather magnificent and its hidden in a dark corner, darker than any indie game ever suffers. People will own Conviction and never even play deniable ops, that's a terrible thing and even RPS would never champion it as they would and indie.

Added a coupon for 20% more off btw.

Yeah, I loved Deniable Ops, far more so than Conviction as it goes.

So there's a big DCS World sale going from the 20th to the 30th:

    DCS: UH-1H Huey - $19.99
    DCS: Combined Arms – $11.99
    DCS: P-51D Mustang – $15.99
    DCS: Black Shark 2 - $15.99
    DCS: Black Shark 2 Upgrade – $11.99
    DCS: A-10C Warthog – $15.99
    DCS: A-10C Warthog 1.1.0.7 (English DVD box) – $15.99
DCS: Black Shark (DVD box) – $15.99
    Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 – $29.99
    DCS: Black Shark – $7.99

Please forgive me if I don't post a link, I'm on my phone and they didn't include a link in the email. I'm tempted by Flaming Cliffs 3 and UH-1H Huey (incidentally the two flight-based modules I don't have yet) but I want another graphics card and that will set me back too far. Shame.

Combat Mission: Touch on android is free today only on the amazon app store.
Not sure how good it is but for 0.00 it's worth a go.

Anno 1404: Gold is to be had on GMG as well for 3.74 / 3.24; the voucher code GMG20-6WUSQ-LBC4U cuts off another 20 %. It's the pinnacle of the series, hands down, and it contains the expansion "Venice" (which introduced multiplayer into the game). Bear in mind that the download requires GMG's own "Capsule" client.
