Metro 2033 left me confused. I'm not sure if it was garbage or marvelous. Probably both. If you have a good gaming pc I recommend experiencing it though. At times it felt almost like art, and then diarrhea.

Is any of Civ V DLC worth buying?

I loved the atmosphere in Metro: 2033. It's one of the few games that I feel are genuinely terrifying, mostly because of the environments and the excellent sound design. I do think the actual gameplay is somewhat weak though, or rather there isnt enough of it. Most of the time you're just led through scripted sequences by invincible companions. There's very few opportunities to explore the tunnels all by yourself. And the only firefights really worth mentioning are the ones against human opponents, which are few and far between.

So guys, what are your recommendations from the Because We May Sale (http://www.becausewemay.com/steam.html)
I had the following on my wishlist:

Vessel: Probably still too expensive for me at $10
    Q.U.B.E.: I love puzzle games
Capsized: Just for the looks of it
Lugaru HD: I'm a sucker for games with crazy physics

I would recommend the following from games I already have:
    Super Meat Boy
Double Fine Pack: All games are awesome, specially Psychonauts
    Cave Story+
    Braid

The Double Fine games aren't disounted at all in UKland. Quite a lot of them seem to be a bit different to what Because We May are advertising, although to be fair the majority are only out by a cent. One or two are even cheaper on Steam than advertised.

I did pick up the Double Fine pack, I've played Psychonauts before but not the other two. I might also buy Capsized (just read the WIT, mulling it over) and The Baconing (played the first one on PS3, okay but not amazing).

I agree with your recommendations, and add Binding of Isaac. I'm sure absolutely everyone has it by now, but if not, get it.

Edit: Sopabuena, check to see if there is a demo of Lugaru before you commit to it. It has one of the most frustrating control schemes I've ever come across in a PC game.

Tim Schafer is a pretty severe seperatist. A man too late in his own time.

Why so cranky? It wasn't meant as negative in the slightest, just wanted to send the correct link that the forum has somehow mangled.

    But yay anyway. :)

    Thanks for the link.

Capsized was pretty and interesting but I did find it a touch repetitive and tiring by the end of its short play time. One too many get X and take it back to the spawn point missions for my taste. The combat and movement is satisfying enough to keep it entertaining for the most part though.

Agree with that completely - it starts-off really good but quickly falls into the trap of treating the player like a rat in a maze...

Quoting this for anyone who missed it. (I almost did.)

I've heard the AI is still rubbish, but honestly, so am I, so that might not be game-breaking for me. Looking forward to giving it a go. (I think there was already a demo available, which I should have tried, but eh. This way I can pretend I made the impulse buy, and see if I start to regret it within the first few days.)

Can anyone point me to a good Civ 5 AI mod?

Incidentally, it's worth noting that most Civ 5 content is cheaper on Gamersgate this weekend than it is on Steam, and it's a Steamworks game:

The GOTY version is cheaper, but one can get the GOTY-less one for $7,49 (5,7€) on amazon.

    R.E. Civ V's DLC -

It's not worthless, but it's not necessary. Really only get it if you want more civs to play as/against or you're bored of randomly generated games.

For me, it was cheaper on Steam: I bought the korea combo thingy for $1,39 USD, against $1.87 USD (-15% of that) on GG.

And, it's not needed, but if you want a different game than the core game, it's pretty cool... I mostly want the achievements, and play different scenarios. I already finished the conquest of the new world one and it was very fun and challenging, I had to replay like 30 turns because an enemy surpassed me on the last two turns. That was amazing.

So much better with a friend to coop with. Using your grapple and hammer heavily you are like a psychic army, one holding up a brick to block fire the other mashing enemies against walls.
I'm failing to writing a blog, specifically about playing games the wrong way

... F*ck. You're right. I tried it yesterday night and I loved it, so... I'm not going to buy it. TOO addictive, I had suddenly lost about four hours of my life when I first looked the time. I don't want that to happen again. >.<

How else can he resist playing them?

Stacking is £5.74, which usually would require me to be invested in the mechanics of the game, but its just so pretty, can anyone tell me if its good?

Nope, but this one got too much time from me in a single night... I'll eventually buy it, but not yet. I don't want to spend too much time gaming right now, and I've already got a lot of games to finish. >.< Probably in the Summer Sale, when it's cheap again and I have more time...

Also, seems like the Carmaggedon KickStarter gives you the new game + access to beta + the original game for 25$. Pretty interesting, I'm tempted to buy it...

I liked it. It is original, comical, and there are multiple ways to solve puzzles. ^^
