Apparently if you already owned the standard version you get the upgraded version free.
Are there any problems playing this on non 4:3 monitors? I've been reading a bit about it and it sort of sounds like there may be problems, but it's not very clear.

I can't remember if there was any letterboxing on my 5:4 monitor, but it ran just fine.

I just installed it out on my laptop to try it out and there were issues with running it at the native resolution. I couldn't see any screen updates unless I alt-tabbed out of the game and back in. Switching to windowed mode seemed to fix that completely.

My laptop doesn't have a dedicated graphics card though, so I'm not sure if that was the problem rather than the resolution.

Thanks. I'd be running it on a laptop too (I do have a dedicated graphics card, though).

I read on the GoG forum that setting the laptop's power settings to high performance or equivalent before playing has fixed the update problem for a number of people.

The game is 4:3 like it or not, only strategy battles had other options.
    Expect boarders.

Sorry to drag this over to a new page, I just thought it was nice because the games I can register on Origin are still of quite a high value, stuff that could of been bought on Steam - the NFS games for example.

yeh, two weeks after the Ubisoft sale where Far Cry 2 cost 6.69€. Odd timing (and a bit annoying for those who bought it back then. Namely me).

Ridge Racer Unbounded is also 50% off on Steam, making it €25. I'd check out the demo first. I was hoping it'd be similar to Burnout Paradise (which I thought was great), but in this case the driving felt odd and a bit sluggish, while the slides with the use of the handbrake seemed very forced.

No, and I believe you have to use Gamefly's own client.

Go into your graphics drivers settings and pick maintain ratio. That fixes stretching for every game ever.

If your monitor isn't a piece of crap, that is. Some monitors like to override or ignore that setting, unfortunately.

Argh! I really want King Arthur II but feel kind of bad paying that little for it. Then again, does anyone know if it's still riddled with framerate limiting and bugs?

Set properly the monitor can't ignore it because the GPU is pumping out a signal with blank pixels.
