Hearts of Iron III and most DLC is 75 % off on Steam until October 3. To my knowledge, it hasn't been announced as of yet.

I really really liked it. It's a space rts only you control one ship most of the time (you might get to control up to four ship at most If I remember correctly) so it's a lot more about micromanagement of the ships systems. More tactical than the build base RTS style.
It has some terrible stealth missions and the biggest disappointment is that you don't have direct control on the movement of your ship.
Still it's a pretty unique game, and at that price is worth a try.

Nexus is good, more of a puzzle game than a strategy game, but there are some good tactical challenges. I liked it.

The Silent Hunter series is discounted at Gamersgate this weekend. Which one is best for someone new to sub sims? I don't want to spend an extra two or three dollars that I don't have to.

The platformer Escape Goat is "paywhatyouwant" on Indie Game Stand.

By the way, how is Rome: Total War? Has it aged well?

The newer games didn't have dogs and pigs.

    A shame really.

I'm not an expert but as I recall the third one is the most accurate simulation and the fifth is most casual (as far as they go).

SH3 with GWX mod is the only WW2 subsim you will ever need, unless you absolutely want the Pacific theatre in which case pick SH4.

Be warned, it doesn't include the Alexander expansion! I don't know if it is of any use, but do note that this isn't the Complete version.

Is anyone else interested in getting Torchlight 2 cheap from a 4-pack? I'm happy to do the buying from UK Gamersgate with IGN discount, works out at 9.52 each, you'll need to pay me on Paypal. Or happy to do join in with someone else buying.

If you can get someone to buy it from the US store with that discount it's just over 8 a copy - this thread's done at least 2 like that already, the Steam keys work in the UK for sure (I have one) and it's just a key, there's no download option.
