Are those games Steamworks? Gamestop didn't mention it for Trinity, but Gamersgate did. Are there different editions or is Trinity a Steamworks title?

Is Metro 2033 Steamworks? Also, can I register a non-retail game on Steam and get the updates that way, rather than having to install them manually (specifically COH)?

The Darkness 2 is on Amazon for $4.99. Steamworks.

EDIT: Also, there's a non-scary games campaign on GOG.

Yes, it's Steamworks. No, unfortunately adding a game to the Steam library only acts as a shortcut and won't auto-update it. Also, occasionally Steam removes all non-Steam games from the library. It's a pain.

And then occasionally they magically come back leading to duplicates. It's super janky.

I steam traded a natural selection 2 for walking dead, legitimately excited to get into that.

This magic disappearing act is due to connection issues with the cloud server. If you are using it (and it's on by default), try disabling it in the settings.

If you keep flicking through the Steam sale feeling like you should be buying something but there's nothing good there that you don't already have, then allow me to help you feel better. Go get Adventures of Shuggy for 1.99.

I hadn't heard of this one until someone recommended it highly in the comments on the RPS article yesterday. Tried the demo for half an hour and was sold, it's a really slick and charming puzzle platformer. I thought I'd totally had my fill of indie platformers but I find myself wanting to play this. Here's John Walker's WiT.

It's from the guy who made Gateways which also went under my radar, I need to get that too.

If you want me on either service, I suggest PMing me here first to let me know who you are.

The Exceed Collection is on-sale direct from the publishers here until Nov 2

    http://exceedseries.com/purchase-the-exceed-collection

$4.99 works-out to just over 4 (UK) with VAT - all you get is a 1GB Zip download tho, no keys or anything like that

e.g. it's a DRM-free offer of a staggering amount of insane shootyness/widdly music for pennies...

Go buy Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory 2.09
    http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DD-SCCT/...l-chaos-theory
    I'm not asking I'm telling.

It's a truly stunning game and it has one of the finest asymmetric multiplayer games I've ever played. Without even mentioning the flawless single player or the revolutionary coop.

Not amazing bargains, but Stronghold HD and Stronghold Crusader HD are 20% off on gog.com "until Thursday, November 7, at 10:59 AM GMT."

More interestingly, if you own the games on GOG already, you get the HD versions for free.

Conflict of heroes: awakening the bear

If anyone wants to get 'Conflict of heroes: awakening the bear' for half price ($20) until November 7 then here's a discount code that will probably only work once so first come first served:

    VIP_CoH_380855025

    Website: http://www.slitherine.com/games/coh_pc

If you've not heard of the game then it's been mentioned in a couple of Flare Paths in RPS:

Everyone should immediately buy Superfrog. There's some other classics of that era on cheap at GoG, too. But buy Superfrog. Ribbit.

GMG is running a deal on Mount & Blade Collection: 7.49 €/$, with this code GMG25-UAAHK-6AI9S it's 25% off, down to 5.62. Trading in the free games they've been giving out brings it further down to 3.37 for me.

Includes: the original M&B, Warband and With Fire & Sword. Should be 3 different Steam keys, because I can't find a collection on Steam.

I AM pissed about the exchange rate but AFAICT it's the best deal so far on Warband.

There's another of those 'DFS-style always on" 25% codes available at Green Man Gaming - notable here because it applies to almost all downloadable games (there are some unlisted exceptions).

It includes the newly released Cargo Commander - for example - which means it's a Steam code for WAY less than Steam is asking
