Last Stand Arnhem is the newest fully-featured title, and happens to be an (elaborate) remake of CC2 (which was the best of the originals IMO).

As long as the policy is made abundantly clear, there's nothing for anyone to apologize for in my opinion.

You're welcome to yours, but no need to be rude about it.

This. I don't get what's wrong with people being okay with downloading once and making a backup.

Even if it does work like that, I'm sure there's a failsafe that customer service works with in case you happen to fail every time you download. I had a situation where I ran out of downloads happen with...something, can't remember exactly what, a long ways back and the customer service was rather receptive of letting me have more downloads due to it failing every time.

From Savygamer - Ghost Recon: Future Soldier [Signature Edition], PC – £6.80 or €10.20 for us poor people.

    Anyone played it?

And for the record, every experience I've had with Matrix customer service has been outstanding, If there were an issue, it would get resolved, period.

What a strange, ugly thing to say. I'd much rather have a service like Matrix, which provides outstanding service, requires that I make a backup, makes that backup easy, and requires nothing more than CD key, than a service like Steam. To each their own, of course.

For the record: While I am horribly opposed to extended download services, I have nothing against people being okay with them. I just feel it is important to make sure they ARE aware so that if they want to use it, they make sure to make a backup ASAP.

Not a sale but certainly a bargain: the long lost strategy classic that is Imperialism 2 is up on GOG as of today for a piddling $5.99!

    Think Helio missed this!

I have played it, it's...quite fun and I'd say at that price worth a shot. To it's credit, after the first level it's either a competent shooter or a competent kind-of-stealth-game. Plus if you have a co-op friend, I imagine it adds to the fun.

Shame it wasn't as good as the first game, but perhaps I have overly fond memories of Imperialism after playing it a lot in my youth.

They have the first one too, actually. For anyone not familiar with the series, 3MA did a lovely retrospective.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is €8 / £10 on http://uk.gamesplanet.com/.

I don't know how reputable this site is, but since the state of this game's developer has left it in a situation where it doesn't seem to be on sale basically ever, I figured it was worth looking into for people who are interested in the title.

Edit; a quick Google search seems to turn up mostly negative reviews of this store. As always, look into it, decide for yourself and use common sense.

Actually, KoA is on sale quite regularly these days, with the complete package generally going for about 10 bucks.

It isn't the greatest game ever made, but it is rather fun and has a character development system that encourages experimenting with the different classes.

The Steam version of KoA never goes on sale because it was self-published. The Origin version is on sale all the time. I own it on Steam but I'll grab a Complete Edition someday from EA. It's cheaper than buying the DLCs for my version.

I bought stuff from GamesPlanet. They manually check every purchase so it's a bit slow. No problems otherwise. In fact they have some awesome pre-order deals sometimes.

As for Tom Calancy's Invisible Soldier, Firefox crashes when I try to use the dropdowns at checkout. It worked on Chrome.

KoA is regularly on sale on Gamersgate. In fact, in general GG is a pretty good place to find cheap deals on Origin games, they run a lot of sales on EA stuff and don't add any additional DRM or the like beyond, obviously, Origin.

Still have my boxed copy of Imperialism, got Imperialism 2 somewhere aswell. I meant I wasn't overly fond of the changes they made to the sequel. Thanks for the link, going to have to check it out.

Everything is great except the story, it's your standard fantasy tale. It's alright but not that engaging,

But if you enjoy adventuring for loots and purple rares and such it's pretty much third person Torchlight.
