Supposedly it is. One of their big selling points is cross-platform play. However, whether it is or not, I couldn't tell you. $20-ish is a ways out of my "acceptable" range for iPhone/iPad games. Not that I'm not sure they're worth it or anything, just that I know for a fact I won't be playing them long enough to warrant that price.
It's $9.99 on the app-store apparently, with the choice to buy an NPC or two with for 2.99 more each.
I think the base game for that price is probably a decent price.

It's a decent price, but for me the GOG version is superior as it is cheaper and comes with a load of extra stuff too. The Infinite Engine soundtracks can ignite some nostalgia in me like nothing else when they come on during random play.
All comes down to tablet play and cross-platform MP.

If you want me on either service, I suggest PMing me here first to let me know who you are.
I tried it - it's not particularly brilliant but a lot of the issues are the obvious ones when you take an older, and quite detailed, game and try to make it work on a completely different media.
I'd FAR rather play BG on a PC and a game designed for iPad on the iPad...

Interesting...
Any of the video footage I've seen of it really didn't make it look like a HD remake. Go look at something like Tomb Raider Anniversary shots compared to the original Tomb Raider. Then go look at two screen shots for BG and BG:EE. Massive difference. Now I know, different game styles and all, but it doesn't look like anything was done to the EE except making it look acceptable on new resolutions that weren't out at the time.

I'm looking at Anno 2070. Reckon I'll go for it, but there's a ton of DLC. Any of it add enough to the game that I'd be silly for playing without/missing out grabbing it whilst it's on sale?
There are some remarks on Anno 2070 and its DLC a few pages back, starting with this post (link).

Battlefield 3 for $9.99 on GamersGate (requires Origin of course):

Lego Lord of the Rings is £6.79 on GMG using the code GMG20-PJFEW-Y16HK
Which is quite good considering it's almost brand new.
