I didn't find it mentioned anywhere in the forums so it might new-ish:
    http://steamdb.info/sales/

Rather handy-dandy for the current sale.

    Amazon deals (Steam keys):

    - Batman: Arkham Origins $20
    - AssCreed 3 $7.5
    - Far Cry 3 $7.5
    - BioShock 1, 2 and Infinite $15

You need a US billing address, for example an Oregon address because that state has no sales tax.

is Arkham Oranges worth playing? I quite enjoyed the first two Arkham games, but the reception seems to have been pretty quiet in regards to the latest one.

It's essentially the same game as arkham city, for the better and the worse. To sum up the receptions:
    • Meh, more Batman.
    • Yay, more Batman.

I'm part of the later camp and had a good time with it.

The story of Oranges is better than Cities.

While browsing through Gamersgate's offers, I noticed they have an Illwinter sale going on:

    • Conquest of Elysium, -75%, 2.49
    • Dominions 3, -75%, 4.74
    • Dominions 4, -15%, 21.24

As well as plenty of other games, obv.

You know how every so often a game gets thrown to the sharks because 'it doesn't do anything new' so that other, more hard to criticise games that 'don't do anything new' get a pass for a year?

Arkham oranges is the sacrifice so people could give GTAV 9/10's across the board. If you liked the first 2, it's more of that. I actually significantly preferred it to city, but not as much as asylum.

GameFly has some good deals, e.g. Skyrim, Dishonored 3.75. Not sure if you can buy from outside the UK though.

BF: Bad Company 2 is heavily discounted on Origin, if you can stomach it. 6 SEK for me (about 0.60/$0.90).

You can from Ireland, each game will give a list of countries that you can buy from. GFDNOV20UK should work. Drop the uk part for the US site

Entirely possible, but I actually bought it for the campaign. It's supposedly not half-bad, right? Either way, it's probably worth the price of... ehm... whatever can be bought for 6 SEK nowadays. Then again, I'll never play it, since I only ever use Origin to buy games, never to play them.

Nope. There's actually still a decent multiplayer community around it.

Tried that first time, I'm getting redirected to the UK site, which then states "available for purchase in the United Kingdom" (thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't noticed). Guess that answers my question.

Amazon has AssFlag (AKA Assassin's Creed 4) for 35$.
You need a US mailing address and you can get a Steam or a Uplay code.

Origin has a Black Friday sale - some DLC which is rarely on-sale is included (if you really care) and Crysis 3 is just 5.99 in the UK which is a record low I think?

Obviously there is a digital extra-bollocks version which costs more ;)

Speaking of which - that Battlenet sale had the worst-value 'Digital Bonus Pack' ever in the form of the super version of the Panda expansion - 10 for an in-game pet/mount/banner - more than twice the cost of the GAME (7 over 17!?)

I'm trying to buy The Cave on Nuuvem for peanuts, but it looks like the backend's melting under the weight of their dailies.

Battlefield 4 for the equivalent of 20 is tempting. Wonder if it's region locked?

The extra bollocks version includes a full copy of Crysis 2 Maximum Edition as well.
