The Economist's special report on video games

In this week's edition, starting here: http://www.economist.com/node/21541164

I haven't read it yet, but it should be good food for thought during the weekend. Enjoy! Discuss!

(there's also a leader here, if you don't want to read the whole thing: http://www.economist.com/node/21541409 )

I could only read the first half of the report as I don't have a subscription but there didn't seem to be anything groundbreaking or controversial. However it is nice to see a fairly factual view of the economic and demographic impact of gaming being covered. It is a shame that it won't filter down that way into the mass media.

It's a pretty good report, especially on the economic side of things (obviously). But it also mentions that the moral panic about gaming is idiotic and why gaming even has it's benefits. No fear-mongering, no unscientific BS. All in all an appropriate and fine read concerning the subject, as expected of The Economist.
