Anyone got a good word to say about Silent Hill: Homecoming? Or best avoided?

For that price? Yeah, probably. It's the worst Spiderweb game by a mile, but at least it still has turn-based combat.

Out of curiosity, which would you say is the best?
Buying games you aren't going to play is a waste of money (no matter how cheap they are). Forcing yourself to play games you wish you hadn't bought is a waste of time. Both are best avoided.

Strongly recommend Divinity II, and will be picking up Avadon. Will also be getting the Geneforge Saga and Waves before the sale is out, I doubt Geneforge will come down more, but Waves might.

It's also a complete and utter piss-take of fantasy in general.

I ended up quitting towards the end (I think) because you just keep cycling through the same 3 regions over and over and over. Pity, because I was having a lot of fun before that.

Torchlight, to buy or not to buy, as someone who grew tired of the gameplay in Diablo 2, but could probably stuck with it if the story/world was interesting?

Waves will be a daily, since it has one of the "pile of gifts" achievements.

Torchlight is much nearer to Diablo 1 than to Diablo 2. Decide accordingly.

Torchlight doesn't have much story besides "We need to go deeper." The art style is great though.

Which is true, but I also think Avadon has the best designed combat of any RPG I've played in ages. Some of the boss battles are awesome. It's worth returning to the same areas a few time just for the combat.

I really loved Avadon, although the only other Spiderweb games I've played are Geneforge 1 and 2. I would say that Geneforge 1, 2 are better RPGs (less linear, larger worlds, more customization), but in terms of well thought out and engaging battles Avadon beats both of them hands down.

That doesn't mean it will be a daily, though.

There have been a lot of games that haven't had dailies that were already up for the acheivement contest. Anomaly, EDGE, Toki Tori and Post Apocalyptic Mayhem are either currently awarding a present or already have and none of these had dailies.

Yeah, but they might do later as you can go back and do achievements.

I have kind of noticed a pattern, in which games that haven't been in the Daily Deal (but still has achievable achievements - like Audiosurf for example), where I've gotten that achievement but not the coal/gift.
However, as soon as I complete a daily objective that is listed for the day, I immediately get the coal/gift.

Don't know why it is like that, but I still haven't got my coal for Audiosurf, And yet it moves and Atom Zombie Smasher..

Doubtful, as from what I recall, they didn't do this during the summer sale. If your achievement was up and you didn't get a daily deal, you weren't getting one during the rest of the sale. I've noticed that indie games that are already at 75% off generally don't go any lower either.

You can get the achievements early but you don't get the presents until it's that game's day in the gift pile.

For everyone else, I don't remember where I read it at, but Ubisoft sent out an email stating they had big deals coming on the 24th, 28th and 31st. I'm hoping for HOMM 6 or Anno 2070 myself.

Just the free Cerberus Network stuff, not any of the other DLC like the Shadow Broker stuff.

I don't even know where you buy that stuff at, as I don't even see it on Origin. I think its still the Bioware website and you need to buy Bioware points first? I wish they'd just move it to Origin.

No. It includes the Cerberus Network, which is a small selection of free DLC packs including a companion and some missions, but no. The rest of the DLC needs to be bought from the BioWare Social Network using their points system.

    Here is the link.

What a bunch of nonsense. Why can't I just buy it outright? Or through Origin? What is the purpose of Bioware points?
