Are people mixing factions in the corps? IIRC, there was the "bullet" faction, the "laser" faction and the "missile" faction. What faction are most of the RPS folk taking?

Whichever you want. It's like Eve in that you can cross train to any faction's equipment afterwards, and the starting locations of each faction are very close to each other.

I'm very tempted to sub for a month and spent the skill points I accrued and never spent. I'd like to try the ECM/EW branch, if there's no one doing that in the RPS corp. Can someone point me to some skill guides?

Game updater/installer doesn't seem to be working. I'll try again later.

I don't think many of us have really picked an area of specialisation yet, or indeed have much of an idea about what skills we'd need. Given the similarities to Eve, "too much" probably isn't an issue when it comes to EW, except for the other side.

Ok, almost three hours now, and the updater keeps freezing on me. (on Win 7 64bit.) I've set it to XP compatibility mode, and that doesn't help. I have to ctrl-alt-del to Task Manager and kill the process, as it isn't responding.

Been needing an MMO to fill my void for awhile.
Don't have the best PC, but I've got just over the minimum spec's so I'm gonna give it a try. Here's hoping!

finally got the client downloaded by killing the updater ever few MB and restarting it. Logged in and realized I'd never even done the tutorials after beta, so doing them now. If someone can shoot an invite to Torgen, I'd appreciate it. Think I'm gonna try ECM and crafting once I get set up. I'm running Theo (yellow/lasers)

Industry and hunting parties.
Vague attempts at PvP.

I'd love to get back into it, but the sub's run out and I am but a poor wastrel.

Two fancy coffees or two fast food value meals deferred, and you're set! McDonald's loss is gaming's gain!

Hey I saw the article on the main site and I'm downloading the client now. Is there anything that the free trial curbs your use of out of interest?
Also, I should have probably opened with this really, are you guys still taking newbies?

I just tried to change my mech and deploy, then the game has black screened and even if I log in and out all I see is a black screen. Any ideas?“Technology is a bad thing, people”

I want to joiiiiin, but I caaaaaaan't. I...will...not...succumb! I'm glad my machine is an old weezer, that's an excuse for not being able to join. (but I want to be part of a superb eve-like experience goddamit... let's see, maybe I have the min specs)
Edit: downloading client for 2-week trial.
Edit2: logged in as nCore. Running through tutorials. Slightly overwhelmed. But friendly help is at hand, thanks folks.

Question: Turns out I have an account that I registered way back when they were running the beta. I never got into the beta.
Am I likely screwed as far as a free trial goes? It sounds like it's a code that they're supposed to email you, but I don't seem to have one. Possibly because I didn't make a new account.
