OMG they're gonna ruin it!!!!!!!!1 Down with all things Firaxis!

No really, it's remarkable how similar that reads to 2K Marin's spiel.
Go read the article in Game Informer, it will put some of your concerns at ease. I'm a big fan of the series and I am looking forward to Firaxis's take on it. The 2K version, well the last version that was marched out for viewing (although this could be changing since pushed back to 2013) and the Firaxis are worlds apart. This is bad timing for Xenonauts project though.

I don't have any concerns. I was mocking popular sentiment regarding that other (unmentionable) XCOM game that's under development.

It's not that bad at all... it kinda needs a little bit of improvement though like the battle field

It is scary how on-topic these bots are on RPS.

Let's revive this thread, shall we?

Here's nearly an hour worth of Enemy Unknown gameplay + Q&A:

Play Arma2:CO with us. (It isn't nearly as difficult as you might think.)

It's okay to not like things.

Come on, October. Hurry a bit!

I've been getting more and more enthusiastic about this as they've shown more of the game. This video seals the deal and I'm now very impatient for release!

Hijacking (sorry) this thread for a related question: I'm currently looking to pre-order (my first pre-order, yay!) this game, with the "elitist" extras. Is there a good place to do this, with taking into account my region (The Netherlands) and preferrable (but not required) Steam activation? Either download or old school DVD would be fine. I can't seem to find "deals" below 45 Euro, which I find a little steep.

It seems more like 37€ in Amazon.co.uk, with free shipping to The Netherlands.

I pre-ordered at amazon.co.uk. Free shipping to the NL takes usually about 2 days extra, but I have Dark Souls to play until XCom arrives ;)
currently playing: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance; Euro Truck Simulator 2; Knights of the Old Republic 2

    Steam/GFWL/PSN: namefinder

What about story,is it going to be any good, never played original ones so i'm not familiar with the stories in those games.
... I take the lives of a few to protect the lives of many. I commit acts of war to preserve the greater peace. I take no joy in killing, but make no mistake; I'll do what needs to be done. Because it's my job. It's my duty. My name is Sam Fisher, and I am a Splinter Cell.

There isn't really much of a story, though it looks like the game will have more hmmmm "character" isn't the right word........ "narrative" than the original, with your HQ calling out points of interest and your science team asking you over the net to save certain bits of tech for salvage
