Oh frak no. That stock cooler was noisy, obnoxious and horrible. It had an idle temp at 50º or so. I am running a Corsair H70 Water Cooler. My idle temp was as low as 19º one day. Now I idle at 25º with the OC.
When I pulled the stock cooler off, it had boiled the thermal grease.. stock AMD cooler is failsauce.

Mine's still a decent system, though by no means top notch. The biggest problem I have with it is just pushing the resolutions I like to use, where I could probably run near everything if I just ran something a bit smaller.

The original system, purchased in late 2007, was basically the same, except with an Athlon 64 x2 5600 and an ATI x1950 pro. The ATI burned out, and I swapped out the Athlon last Februaryish to the best CPU I could drop into my motherboard. For the BC2 demo. And got basically no performance boost that I could see. I still hold out hope that if I actually reformat, I'll get some sort of a boost or something.

Future upgrades? I'll probably need a full overhaul in the near future (within the next year or so/whenever I can afford it), where I plan on getting an SSD as well. By that time, the price for a reasonably sized SSD should be more affordable.

well, i'm still using my PC i built around 5 years ago, and it's getting on a little. It runs everything i throw at it, though, as near as it makes no difference to max setting at 1920x1080, so I can't really justify any upgrades.

Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.2Ghz (because it's getting on, it doesn't overclock as well as it used to)

Abit IP35Pro (I was actually really upset when Abit went out of the mobo business, they had some great features)

Powercolour HD4850 (new edition, was sitting doing nothing in the loft so why not?)

Also done a load of cable braiding myself, and i'm particularly proud of the 24pin ATX cable. Looks niiiiiiiice :)

Edit: forgot to add that i have an Intel X25-V SSD- probably the BEST upgrade i've ever made to my PC, and a samsung Spinpoint.

Peripheral wise, i'm rocking a Logitech G500 courtesy of my lovely GF, and a logitech wireless keyboard doohickey, with some Sennheiser HD201s or when i want be rather noisy, my class Creative I-Trigue speakers. Love the sound of those through my Xonar DG.

LOL I still have my old systec mechanical keyboard. I can't kill that thing. It's been thrown, drowned, sat on, stepped on, etc etc and it keeps on going.. Now you have to pay nearly 100.00 USD for a damned mechanical keyboard.. w-t-f?

Nice wire management! Mine is still a bit untamed, but I blame that on my ADHD and need to game repeatidly :)

i pulled the fans off of my H50 yesterday and there was a half centimetre of dust cacked onto one side :/ and i live in a house with a clean freak. removing it dropped my temps by 5C lol.

That's nothing. My computer randomly shut down the other week, so I checked what it was doing. Turns out, the heatsink on my 4850 was so caked with dust that the fan was unable to spin. Removing it dropped my temps by 30-40C.

Which is rather weird, because the fan hangs off the bottom of the card, and both the front intakes have dust filters on them.

This rig is two and a half years old (the oldest parts are getting on 7), cost me ~£660 then and it's still going strong. I think I need to look into overclocking my CPU (I don't use a stock cooler) and upgrading my GPU in the near future if I want to have any hope of playing Battlefield 3 or ArmA 3.
