    Sonic CD is on steam! And it has achievements! And it's only 5 dollars!

    This almost made me break my no new games for a year embargo.

    Sonic CD is great. It's a good game to begin with, but this is a fan-made port/remake officially adopted by Sega, so it runs at 60fps solid, offers both Japanese and US soundtracks (completely different, for some reason - I vastly prefer the Japanese version. The US version sounds very midi-ish), has native widescreen support and some extra features/modes.

    Get it. Consider getting Sonic Generations. Skip Sonic 4.
