In answer to your question post-session last night, Joe: I don't have a problem with Ride of the Valkyries as a concept. Having two transport helos, a gunship AND a plane are great, as is having to pick LZs, take the first town, then organize a dust-off to proceed to the second.
Before you go eliminating entire objectives I'd suggest just reducing the number of hostiles in the first town. After all, there's one if not two bunkers on hilltops spotting us, not to mention several very large patrols with lovely state-of-the-art Blufor weapons shooting at us.

Good news everyone.
as soon as 1.60 final is released, a version of sthud will be released that has the ability to color-code via the built-in team assignment feature of a2.

Hello everyone.
Just signed up to say thank you for an interesting and fun first time playing Arma II CO more seriously and with a large group. I enjoyed the experience more than I thought I would and will most definitely be joining you to play again, if you'll have me of course. You've got just about the right balance between serious and fun in my honest opinion. Of note I do hope I wasn't to useless.
Now a little message to anybody looking and thinking
"Oh I'd like to try this... But that's a lot of people... I don't know"
I'm the same when it comes to playing games with new groups I've never met, I get very nervous... Will they like me, will they hate me etc. My advice is this, take the plunge and join in
These gentlemen made me feel at home within about 2 minutes, they really won't bite you.
Thanks again for a lot of fun guys.
Regards Hawk.
Seems to me like you did damn well, Hawk.

Well, it doesn't matter what you use, the end result is the same.
Ok so I'm making a new mission for I44, its coming along a lot better than expected actually, might be ready for tommorow, probably gonna need a few people to try it out sometime soon.
K the mission is ready but probably chock full of bugs, I'll need some help testing it today which is the last chance before January cos I'm going home tommorrow.
I m good from 8.00 CET onwards....
A few Folk announcements:
1. All good comrades are invited to the Folk session on Sunday 18 December at 19:30 UK (details in the thread's OP). There will be bad mens, and this time there really will be the music of John Carpenter. We promise. If you are new to ARPS please remember that you are also invited to the Folk sessions, and that competency is entirely optional (but dying is almost encouraged).
2. If you have not already, please familiarise yourself with the Channel Commader feature of TS3. A very helpful guide is provided in the Getting started with TeamSpeak 3 (for ArmA2) thread on the Folk forum. We will be using Channel Commander this weekend.
3. If you are a mission maker, and would like to contribute missions to the socialist agrarian revolution, you may want to re-visit the Writing missions for Folk thread on the Folk forum; it has been updated with links to some new templates.
My dear fellows, which version should I get? Amazon.co.uk has Arma X for 25 pounds... I might just get that, since I want to avoid the sprocket version's securom. Or is the retail version protected too?
There's no must have version, any together or separately bought ARMA2 and ARMA2: Operation Arrowhead can be turned into Combined Ops, which is what one needs to play nowadays. Owning BAF and PMC is not necessary for multiplayer, as lite-versions (no singleplayer campaign, low-res textures) of both are included in Arrowhead.
Also to reduce possible confusion, Arma Cold War Assault and Arma Resistance included in the Arma X package are renamed Operation Flashpoint from 2001 and its expansion pack.
