For any and all new people who ended up here because of the RPS frontpage mention: Hi! We're nice people and we want you to come play with us!

The next good chance for you to get in on the action will be on Tuesday (also known as Tactical Tuesday, Tacticool Tuesday, Tacticlol Tuesday, etc.), at 19:30 Brit time. It is advisable to come hang out in the RPS Steam chat before that to ask questions that you no doubt have.

Server details and pretty much everything else you need to know are in the first post, or in expanded form on herosquad.org.

The best way is to join the RPS steam chat room, you can ask in there or just message me directly.

Also a polite reminder to follow protocol properly on Sunday, silliness when not appropriate is a big no no. Good impression and all that, bear in mind that we will be considered Folk by most.

Hideos_Playhouse, Smokey AL - Please feel free to join us in the Folk sessions, to which ARPS has a standing invite; normally the sessions happen every Sunday at 19:30 UK. The key details are available in the OP of this thread. You can also find out more, and read AAR threads from all sessions, at the Folk forum.

This Sunday is a little different (and begins at a different time) - Folk has been asked to contribute a 25-player contingent to the large-scale coop being run by LDDK. Our friends from CiA will also be attending (and will share our TS3 server with us). To find out more you'll need to read this thread (you'll need to register for a Folk forum account to view it).

Comrades, hopefully everyone is ready for tomorrow's event. Just in case you're wondering what 'ready' means, here's a quick checklist:

    1. You've checked this thread on the Folk forum
    2. You know the address and password for the LDDK server (it's in the thread)
    3. You know you can connect to the Folk TS3 server
    4. You know how to enable and use TS3 Channel Commander (see this guide if not)
    5. You have NOT patched to v1.60RC1
    6. You know NOT to connect with addons like ACE2 and ACRE (client-side addons like STHUD are okay)
    7. You know to connect at 18:45 UK

Hopefully it'll be epic. Or we'll all die in a pointless bayonet charge. Wait, that'll also be epic.

TvT COP attack with our realism units.

An ArmA TvT event in which we get our collective asses handed to us. As part of the beta MP TvT campaign "A Fork in the Road" which requires ISAF personnel to conduct KLE's, route clearance, weapons interdiction, raids, clear and hold mandates, humanitarian operations (building wells and schools), etc... we establish a new COP in a contested area overlooking a valley.

Within two hours of our patrol establishing said COP, AAF conduct a complex attack on our position. Outnumbered nearly 6-1 we hold our own, but only because of the Close Air Support provided by ADFGrunt06. We eventually abandoned the position.

We appreciate the sitrep Pvt. Cord, but ARPS has a focus on Asymetric ISHYGDDT Ops with an extreme specialisation in the COIN and HUMINT paradigm. Whilst our secondary focus is on EOCBO, we cannot take the risk of our force assets being co-opted by HSLDW units which would severly degrade our mission effectiveness and create the possibility of the continuing implementation of SCPOs and SOPs being threatened by an imbalance in our ability to effectively counter the EJAn-2 threat, as can be seen in the following de-classified footage of high-intensity semi-kinetic AT/CP mission environments.

    Semper Frosty!

Hm I don't get it but I hope Null is not out seriously...

Re last night, thanks for inviting us Fer. I never thought driving around would be so nerve wracking! It was a bit crap I had to leave just before pushing on to the main target but from reading Joseph's AAR it seems most people were killed shortly after...

I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who was left in Echo for bearing with me when repeated decapitations left me in command of the fast-diminishing remnants of the squad.

I'd also like to say no thanks to IceRaiser and Head for going on and on about returning to repair the LAV. Frankly, I just kept you from doing that out of spite ;)

Yesterday was great fun. Glacially slow pushing but incredibly intense. Big thanks to Kataras for driving the Humvee superbly, some very nice positioning and he pulled back the vehicle just as the AA-gun in town started firing upon us.

Thanks to all the new people who showed up for TacTues, hopefully we'll see you again. Sorry for all the confusion, I recommend installing Mumble and checking connection to the mumble server beforehand, server details are in the first post. Even if you don't have a mic (get one, they're cheap, with mumble even the cheapest ones do fine), you will benefit immensely from listening.

Also, that was the best execution I've seen yet in Ivory Hunt, if we were always this effective the convoy would probably just start driving through the desert.

I was watching you guys from the hilltop and kataras's driving when the Zu-23 opened up was pretty damn smooth. I thought you were all going to get massacred when I first heard it open fire.
