As someone who somewhat enjoyed Duke Nukem Forever (though it was nothing special), I decided to pick the single-player DLC (during a sale, for $2.50), specially after reading everywhere that it was better than the main game. Well, now I'm finally playing it and the only thing I can say is: is everyone on drugs?
I mean, I only played about 15 minutes but by God, were those 15 minutes excruciating. First of all, why are the levels so much smaller (in terms of actual length)? There's a loading screen every 2 minutes! Also, it's boring as hell. All I did during this time was plow through generic sci-fi environments (there's a part where you have to go through a series of decontamination chambers for no reason whatsoever, it's maddening) and platform jumping! On a first-person game!
I eventually just stopped playing because I was bored out of my skull.
Unless things dramatically pick up SOON, this will be $2.50 down the drain... which I could've spent on beer and peanuts
