It's Quake, ID Software's follow-up to Doom 2. Absolute classic, nice shots.

A little tour through the RockPaperSkana Clan Dojo (basically a customisable guild hall) in Warframe:

    ...sorry, I guess ;)

Never played Quake, so that's why I didn't recognize it.

Find it and play it now, even if you just play the early levels, it's a great experience :)

Lots of "source ports" (whatever that means) to play the games easily on modern systems too: http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-tal...rce-ports.html

I quite like the contrast between the Quake and Warframe shots above - that's 17 years of graphics progress. Not sure if there's 17 years of gameplay progress; I haven't played Warframe :)

In most games you walk very slowly, but on Quake and Warframe you could be really fast :D

Well, there are some things in Warframe that weren't possible back then aside from graphical fidelity (wall running and other acrobatic tricks, simulated physics for example), and you can decide for yourself wether a F2P buisiness model and focus on cooperative play can be considered progress. :)

@Rirderg How does WRC4 compares with the standard in Rally games, Colin McRae Rally 2?

Still more Far Cry 2, only now got to the second map.

Some more Quake shots, this time from Slide which is the best mod made for anything.

If you were wondering, all of the screenshots I've taken of Quake lately are from running Engoo which is rapidly becoming my port of call.

Super8 is another one which some people who are after a modern software rendered Quake fix might prefer since it handles some maps and mods better but it's the dithering, refractive water effect and the ability to cut the resolution down (shown above) that's really attracted me to Engoo.
