And now I remember I finally have a machine that can run Mirror's Edge on highest settings, and I have not done so. I'll have to remedy that some day. Sooner rather than later.

Do you guys play Mirror's Edge with keyboard and mouse? I gave it a try once, but I think I didn't spend enough time with the controls.
Keyboard and Mouse for Mirror's Edge. Accept no substitute, especially if you're serious about the time attacks and precision disarming.
such a beautiful game. shame it didn't sell enough copies at full price. I didn't buy it either for more than a fiver. really loved it tough even if i played only 10 hours of it.
It's one of my favorites. Gorgeous, slick, and incredibly rewarding when you spend time with the mechanics. I have yet to play even a racing game that masters the feel of speed better than Mirror's Edge. Trackmania comes close, though it's a different kind of motion.
That one part with all the machine gunners when you're descending a bunch of wide-open stair-cases though ... that was rough in a not entirely pleasant way.
Edit: By which I mean, Hey look a screenshot!

While the Dark Ritual ensured the Warden's safety from the Archdemon's toxic essence, no one had accounted for the resulting thermonuclear blast. (Dragon Age: Origins ... one of the bigger WTF moments).

Me on my third run in the new Binding of Isaac DLC - totally overpowered character. (Mom was dead in about 7 secs, the rest was easy too)

Saints Row the Third
Clipping issues again. This sort of stuff happens all the time.
Expert landing during Insurance Fraud, I dare say.
Is that... Shaundi?!
Um... yeah.

I think that might have been fixed. I used to get the problem where breaking glass made my fps -> 0, but now it works fine.
If it's the part I'm thinking of then I thought that was excellent. While running down the stairs you just keep grabbing bigger weapons and taking out the guy in front. First guy - pistol; next - machine gun; next - shotgun etc. Just keep grabbing, killing and swapping. The mobility and fluidity of it felt like a scene from the Matrix.
I played it through with KB+M, I didn't have a gamepad at the time. It seems like the subject matter should map neatest to gamepad, though, so if pad isn't good I have to wonder why. Certainly pad makes more sense in the balancing sections, and the overall running shouldn't be precision work either. I don't really remember how the attacks and disarming work because I used so little of them, almost always ran instead of fighting.
Saints Row the Third
Revival needed? I wouldn't have guessed.
What are you saying Mr. Pigeon, they denied you bread crumbs? They will suffer. They will all suffer.
Ouch.
Experimenting with the parachute...
...eventually lead to me figuring out how to hijack horses from the skies!

I keep meaning to start a "pigeons in games" tumblr modeled after Mr Meer's short-lived "cats in games" tumblr.
