Is this where we beg for Planetside 2 beta keys now? Hypothetically speaking, as I am above such things.

Who's begging exactly? Maybe you should try actually contributing something to the thread rather than just coming in here to whinge about a few people joking around.

@somini - :-) I'm sure it doesn't look that bad. You should post some anyway.

Planetside 2 beta? Ask and ye shall receive! Most of these are action shots, so interface remains. Most of the settings are set to highest.

    Night fire.

Ooooohhh, my turn! Everything maxed out too.

    I love this game's twilights.

    There are some amazing locations.

    This is inside that place.

Reaching a fight on the middle of trees is refreshing after spending several hours on the desert.

Sometimes it's like tron made sweet love with Battlefield 2142.

And then you realize that the Vanu MAXes have light on their butts, too.

I love how much does the feel change depending on the weather or the time of the day.

This makes me giggle every time. YESSIR, WILL DO SIR.

    Really want.

EDIT: Looking back at all the PS2 shots that have been posted I find it quite incredible how different each one is terms of colour and scenery. It really is looking quite beautiful.

Quick dry-responding because I need to go out soon:
    1. Yes, the terrain is stunning. The bases are well built and feel like entrenched military locales.
    2. The variety is great, including fighting one faction against another with the mish-mash of colours.
    3. And that's why it works. Not overly realistic, but extremely well polished. Looks far better in motion.
    4. Man, you haven't even fought over a base unless you've fought over it during a single day/night cycle. Seeing the colours wreak the sky at night, with minimal comprehensible vision, to the saturation of sun and haze during the day. It's probably one of my favourite moments in gaming this year. The pairing of gameplay and presentation is almost perfect during these battles.
    5. Especially when you get the spawn-and-fall-through-the-floor glitch!

Basically, PS2 looks great. It jumps up to phenomenal during the night, which in turn makes the day better due to the stark comparison.

I get Frostbite vibes from it. Can whoever is playing PS2 tell me if it's Battlefield but Sci-Fi? (Serious question).
I am interested especially to know if maps are big and teamwork is essential. Thank you.

@Kataras: It's certainly closer to a true Battlefield game than Battlefield 3 is. Maps aren't big, they are HUGE. And teamwork is indeed essential.

Maps are massive. It's kind of the point of PS2. A major tech plant and it's linked outposts is about the size of a BF3 map. There are 9 of these on a continent. The space between on major base and another is about 5 times that.

Teamwork is essential to get anything done. You can join the zerg and spend your time running 300 meters from a spawn location and dying over and over. But it's not much fun.

SOE really need to improve squad tools for PUGs.
