The facial expression here is great! As for Lara and her many gruesome deaths; I suppose the truth is indeed somewhat nuanced. Graphical advances in games automatically make today's death scenes look more explicit than they could in the past, too - and Lara has always (at least for a long time) had her fair share of QTE-fail deaths.

You probably wouldn't want to run into these two characters when wandering the roads of Skyrim...

Something was missing from those previous The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim screenshots: dragons!

A Frost Dragon circling above the forests of southern Skyrim.

A Blood Dragon confronting the Dovahkiin.

Odahviing comes to the aid of the Dovahkiin.

The death cry of the Blood Dragon echoes across the valley west of Riften; Odahviing quietly departs from the scene.

RE6 is certainly not the worst game i've played this year. But it definitely is the dumbest. As an action coop game, it's not bad. As a single player survival horr, it's downright awful.

I still remember being shocked by some of Laras deaths in the very first Tomb Raider. They look ridiculous now but back then they were quite brutal. Awesome Skyrim shots by the way. Really need to get back into that game at some point.

Torture porn isn't so much criticised for the element of torture being evident; it's more about the length at which the genre dwells upon the suffering and vulnerability of the subject, and torture is the natural way of providing this. The violence in Torture Porn is there to entertain, provoke and titlate in rather than to serve any plot purpose. The gore is the object, and so it is the horror of that which is invested in the most. How inventive it is, how long it is, how nasty it is and so on.

I think that's he accusation that some people are leveling at the new TR, in regards to those scenes, that they're unnecessarily gruesome and prolonged unnecessarily or for no real reason. A lot of people have noticed them which in a medium as violent as video games takes some doing so that could suggest that they're provocative as well I guess.

I haven't played or seen much of it so I have no opinion on the matter.

Well I don't want to argue semantics but personally i'd say that those scenes are crucial to the narrative of the game. Lara's suffering throughout is essentially what shapes her into the character we know from previous games, a cold blooded killer. Anyway, that's a debate for a different thread methinks :)

Speaking of Lara, I actually have a giftable copy of the Guardian of Light game if anyone wants it. Also have Nuclear Dawn and 2x ARMA 3 lites.

Haha, well she has racked up a body count that could easily compete with both. ...not forgetting the various animal species she's mowed down without a second thought.

Funny coming from someone who seems to post nothing but soccer screenshots.

Anyone else love how the AI acts when showing up to a camp you just cleared? Those guys sure talk a lot of shit for people who arrive after the battle.

Still, gotta give them props for their parking. Way to rub it in, guys.
