Next attack on my plasma storm from the Green menace. Doesn't look like too many ships though.

Turn out my dick is, at least after some reinforcing an lots of shouting.

Chased lots of the bastards off after losing 2 capital ships and several hundred fleet points of smaller ones. They lost more though. Lost too much to take the fight to them though.

And soon after they have all this built and getting ready for the next fight. This time I think they're throwing every ship they can build, and seeing as we've all maxed out the fleet sizes and I have a good 1/3 of my ships on another flank against the other AI (actually taking planets there), they might just win.

At least my allies are still going strong and providing a distraction. This has been a glorious game

In my experience whomever builds the first titan tends to be victorious.

It doesn't bother you to have the ships in your UI ungrouped like that? I prefer mine to be as clean as possible, so I could never be happy to have that much clutter, especially with such large engagements as you're posting.

Excellent. You'll soon be hurling abuse at AIs and bringing your PC to a grinding halt as thousands of ships, structures and mines dare to exist in a single game.

Don't have Rebellion, only Trinity so no titans. Think I might prefer it that way, as I never like that sort of forced arms race (although I know you can turn titans off so will get Rebellion one day, just to see).

I use the pause feature a lot so don't need quick access to groups. Hold ALT and click a ship and it selects all of that type in the gravity well. At this point, grouping would run out of keys and/or get confusing. Fleet groups and good UI are all I need.

I forget exactly what it is called, but what I'm referring to is the UI option that groups like ships and structures into icons in sets of ten, instead of one icon for every individual ship or structure, like so:

It may be hard to see at this scale, but there are white numbers indicating when there is more than one of each ship or structure in a gravity well or fleet.

Oh that. I agree that is an excellent feature and one that is advisable to use, but I like the grandeur of a gigantic list of ships. I tend to switch between the two to be honest, and in fact normally would have done so by now except I've never had a game with fleets this big before, so really wanted to enjoy the numbers.

It was a reasonably fun game! (in case the screenshots don't fully communicate that)

The entire game is like a super glue advert.

Hey those of you playing Homeworld 2: I installed it from yon olde disc but am suffering from bad framerate. Any fixes?

Is it patched up to 1.1 and such? I get a solid vsynched 60FPS on Vista (yeah yeah, I know) but the animations are sometimes a little stuttery in the cutscenes. That's the only issue I've had though. I am running it with a no-cd crack (because screw CDs), don't know if that makes any difference.

edit: The internet suggests turning on Vsync helps with frame rate issues on new machines. Worth trying that before anything else.

Not sure what graphics card you have, but if you have an ATI card make sure catalyst control isn't applying any settings. My game was chugging really bad, until I realized CC was applying anti-aliasing. Ran really smoothly afterwards.

It's not screenshots per se, but this collection of 125 fighting game background images might interest some people.
