Seph, those Crysis screens seem to be on the high end of the saturation/contrast scale. Is that a personal preference, or the game itself?

    Some screenshots from Shattered Horizon.

Yeah although it doesn't quite work as well as I'd hoped. Enemies tend to glitch out a bit when you shoot them with it.

@Tritagonist: Just the way the mod is squire. Definitely get's a bit too intense at times but, for the most part, it looks great.

    Well it looks pretty.

Tritagonist, how is Shattered Horizon? Doesn't look too bad.

I see, a mod! Yeah, it does indeed look nice most of the time.

It's pretty fun. It has your usual FPS game modes, and the weapons or map layouts don't do anything really exciting, but you're obviously (mostly) weightless because you're floating through space so the fights are truly three dimensional. I would not go out of my way to recommend this game to people, but I also wouldn't caution against it. It's nice as a gimmick, and because the game comes with pretty decent bots and usually goes for €5 in Steam sales, it's worth looking at if the main feature of the game - weightless FPS in space - sounds nice.

    Some screenshots from Sonic Generations.

That hitman screenshot is the first interesting screenshot I've seen of the game so far.

Thanks Tritagonist, I might check it out. Space-type games always appeal to me anyway, and it's pretty cheap.

Serenegoose, I'm a bit surprised, Absolution generally screenshots really well, it's aesthetically pleasing, if not in gameplay.

Right! Over time, I'm sure I got my money's worth with this title. Call me easily pleased, but just buzzing around the maps every now and then is fun to me. I suppose it's why I never got anywhere in EVE. But anyway, here's some screenshots from the map that features a drifting moonbase with a decidedly damaged looking moon in the background. This one is somewhat dark, but there's maps with other structures as well, including a warp-gate, a mining station and things like that.

It's not really what you see, but what you don't. A lot of absolution screenshots are like 'here is a big crowd' or 'here I am doing a dalek impression to this guy' or 'I am in a disguise peeking around a corner' or whatever. That's the first one that suggests something more. Like 'It's night. here is a hotel. Within is my target. Everything else is up to how I approach it.' It suggests potential quite effectively.

That promise might not have been fulfilled by the game, of course.

    Kerbal Space Program

    Nice and easy, nothing complicated.

    It's a bit of a detour...

... but the arrival is a real conversation starter.

@Serenegoose: I always struggled to get good Absolution screens for some reason (in part due to the awful hud). The game is significantly more linear than previous hitman titles which makes screens, like the one you mentioned, harder to achieve. H
