More like Supreme Commander or even Total Annihilation I'd say, mainly because of the scope. Playing around with phaselane lengths means that after 6 hours of play my knowledge of the system is this

and that's with a Ship Vision Treaty with the blue guys. Some planets are still undiscovered, let alone colonized. Those green guys heading towards Ennomos, they've been in phase space for around 10mins I think. My Envoys down to Ginestra were dispatched 20mins back. I can see this lasting a good while yet, even though the greens may be gone soon.

Thanks! Now for something different; Anno 1404: Venice.

The harbour of the main island. It still looks rather unimpressive. For now.

    Nearby 'Oriental' island.

Two views of the main town.

No, not really demanding. The load times are rather long, but the game itself has never given me problems. The post-processing depth of field that is used in the Photo Mode helps make it look different from other city builders. This, by the way, should be a (customizable!) feature in all these games. If the depth of field is too narrow for your tastes, you can tweak the post-processing settings a bit, but unfortunately not too much.

Since it's a German game, the citizens are probably all at work!

What a mess! Lack of food brings all the rebels to the town square.

Just upgraded my rig, so I installed a ton of graphical mods to put it through its paces. I used to get ~25-30fps if I tried to run enb alone, nevermind all these texture packs. Now I get a constant 60fps indoors, and as low as 50fps if I'm outside near running water. I'm playing with no HUD, and it's a blast.

The designs between the three races are really well done. The TEC ships looks very chunky and utilitarian, matching well with the idea that they're mostly re-purposed cargo ship designs. The Advent are all flashy with smooth, sleek vessels; often looking almost two-dimensional. Then there's the Vasari who have a pointy, alien quality about them; lots of inherent aggression. And their new capital ship introduced in Rebellion (Rankulas Battleship - 2nd last pic, ship on the right) almost looks like an homage to the Reapers of Mass Effect).

Also everyone who thinks it looks interesting should try Sins. Takes only a few hours to learn and has tonnes of depth. The AIs can prove a ddamn good challenge (especially as a game can be set up in so many ways) and if you can find someone to play multiplayer with things open up even more (2 human v 4 hard AI comp.stomp).

I just spent the last hour catching up on this thread. Space Engine, Project Cars and Seph remain stupendous and there's been some fantastic shots elsewhere too. Cross posting these with the Star Citizen thread, this 'ere is my space ship. Ain't she a beaut? 300i, she'll get you from A to B quicker than it takes to climb a ladder.

    The 300i, rear left.

    For.

    Overhead left.

My test pilot who we'll call...errm...Kerbal, because why not?

Currently, doors won't close on the 300i, so you could say I'm grounded.

    Bonus Torchlight 2!

Yes, that is what you see it as.

Me and my awesome shadow. (Embermage ability that creates an illusion that does its own attacks, very helpful.)
