I see, thanks for the clarification. The graphics look were close to M&B that's why i thought it was that game :).

Cross-posting these from the Guild Wars 2 subforum, a couple of screens taken during a bout of exploration in Cursed Shore, breaking out of the map boundaries and climbing to hard to reach places.

GW2 is so flippin' pretty. I'm finding out that if I poke around a bit I can find things that aren't indicated as a vista or point of interest, which is great motivation to keep exploring.

Pretty much all I've been doing the last couple of days is try to get to places you're not "supposed" to get to. :)

Some pictures of a Minecraft winter wonderland:

It's all about the render distance. Surprising how much better the game looks with AA and AF set to maximum.

I like the look of your house too LTK. I should buy Minecraft someday. Do they ever offer discounts? It's about 20 euros right now.

Apart from the discount for alpha and beta buyers I don't think Minecraft has ever budged it's price point.

Agreed. These screenshots make me want to go back to the game and build both random structures as well as cozy houses into a snowy landscape. Good god, I think I am feeling a bit Christmasy. D:

Thanks for the kind words. I'm usually pretty rubbish at architecture, so my best work tends to come from finding a nice-looking mountain and digging it out. My previous attempt included a sandstone mosque-like structure on top of a perilous floating chunk of desert, but I died and hardcore mode deleted it.

That's apparently the logic behind it. The stat counter is ticking over once every second or so. But Minecraft is already defying every other convention of selling PC games, so it's not so surprising they're avoiding the sale culture too.

I just looked at the shots again, and I'm getting a Christmasy vibe from it too. By the way, this is the first time I will be saving shots from the screenshot thread to be able to look at them again. I salute you, LTK :)

You're all right about the price point, probably. It's selling well, and I'm just trying to find an excuse to buy the game ;)

I miss my eternally snowing land from alpha. That was so beautiful and desolate that I hate to load it up and see the sun shining.

You could always roll back. They added that feature in 1.6.

I have some more screenshots here of an alpha world where it always snows. I built an elaborate treehouse, and then set it on fire.

I have the better memories from that version, too. I remember a zone with lava falls, and a huge natural crater-like are where I made my base, slowly, like a desperate marroned.
