Some shots from the new Sins Of A Solar Empire: Rebellion DLC pack - Stellar Phenomenon.

Plasma storms can now appear and envelop your planets from time to time.

The aftermath of a coronal fragment ejection. They initially appear as a ball of fire travelling along the phase lane, and when that's cleared you're left with swirling blue clouds.

Bursts of gamma radiation now travel from one planet to the next via the phase lanes and wherever they appear, the planetary population is instantly reduced to zero. Anti-bombardment shielding will not save you.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Vasari titans will now occasionally show up at random to harass you, because they are apparently the Mad Dark Fleet Remnants.

Comets are not colonisable, unsurprisingly. They can themselves be swallowed up in plasma storms, however.

Obligatory close-up shots of cool structures, just because.

Apparently the DLC also added black holes and graveyards of fleet battles. Not yet encountered those yet, screens when I do.

    This is getting weird.

Had to fistfight three guys to enter Kingpins house. Third one is a supertough ninja and game doesn't let you savescum. After tens of attempts I somehow blocked his path into the ring so he was outside and didn't want to get inside. So I threw a knife at him and hit. He became hostile and got into the ring. I managed to beat him and won. Then he bled to death outside the ring.

Then I decided to blow Kingpin up.

    An did so.

Then I liberated a brothel. Checking rooms made me tired. I sleep now.

So I recently finished the creation of a monster, but haven't really gotten around to trying out too many games on it yet. I did give Shattered Horizon a go though, because it always run terribly on my previous rig.

This shot is taken with forced 64x CSAA anti-aliasing, which is apparently a thing.

The game still runs a little bit jumpy when I first spawn, and at the end of the match when the score window pops up, but I suspect that's probably not the PC's doing, as Speed Fan indicates the games only using one CPU core.

That was one of the most sub-par textures I've ever seen, especially with highly detailed faces right above them.

I'm genuinely amazed it runs so well on integrated graphics. The irony is that KOTOR and Sith Lords run quite badly on the same machine. Dantooine kills them both.
I tried it but it increases the loading times by about 10 times. I wish I had an SSD.

SoaSE Rebellion 4player FFA which has turned into a 3-way stalemate where everyone hates each other.
Rebel TEC Titan - the Ragnarov

That fucker is great if it's on your side and terrifying if it isn't. No support or healing abilities, every ability it has involves fucking your ships. Here, it is happily screwing over the AI who is, thankfully, Not Me. However, from here he jumped to the star at the heart of this map. A star where I had 3 Advent starbases set up, making use of the 4 starbase limit star gravity wells have and the Advent capacity for fucktonnes of strikecraft.

    Unfortunately, doing shit like this:

To the TEC Rebel guy when he was moving ships through the star area caused him to take umbrage and send his Titan plus half his fleet to deal with my starbases. Sick of losing the things, I sent some help. Things got emotional.

Thankfully I had it outnumbered by so much that it barely did any damage to my fleet as a whole. Still, it had no shields and 80% hull when my fleet arrrived at the star. By the time it was dead, 3 of my capital ships were almost dead and many ships were injured. And that's with Advent shield abilities/guardians/mothership at full pelt. Fuck the Ragnarov.
