    Forget SOPA/PIPA/ACTA, this is worse

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...023195322.html

The United Nations now wants to own the Internet, and give power over it to national governments to allow for revenue increasing stuff for ISPs such as charging for international traffic, charging per click, and other things like that which will drive costs of using the Internet up and make stronger censorship more possible...

This does seem something of a concern, but the WSJ article is couched in such alarmist terms ("establish dominion"? Really?) that it's hard to work out what's actually being proposed - or, in some cases, how they would even be technically feasible.

It looks like centralisation where no centralisation is needed - but I don't think the lack of said centralisation currently prevents sufficiently determined governments from implementing, say, national Internet censorship or other such malarkey.

So, yeah. Probably not a good thing, more details needed.

    >people complain about SOPA/PIPA and they get stopped/delayed.
    >people complain about ACTA, and... I forgot what happened to it
    >some other organisation decides to design something even worse.

    GENIUS.

Whatever the details are, this is not a good thing. I don't think this will acually pass.

I dont know this is not some law trying to be passed by law makers who are kind of controlled by us. This is the UN the big boys that pass things that we as the public get no say in.
