Yeah, but what the Uruk-Hai are not that different from orcs in the game. I did not mean that the game had only orcs to kill. I just meant that almost 70 % of the time you would be fighting Orcs. Including the Uruk.

BTW, Try Shank and Shank 2, really great co-op titles, and they don't cost much. Only down side is that they are sidescrolling, but the game is fluid, and really violent.

I wonder is Haunted: The Hells reach a good Co Op game?
    Have you tried Killing Floor.
You should keep an eye out for WarFace, FireFall and Mercenary Ops since they'll all have Co Op

Serious Sam 2 was a quite pants, SS3 was very good and supported splitscreen again. Campaign is a bit poo for the first few levels though.

Only tried Haunted as a mod, it was pretty good fun, a lot like Killing Floor, but not really playable with 2 as it didn't have scaling difficulty. Worth investigating.

I tried Shank for half an hour or so with a friend, and neither of us liked it. Game in general may be fluid but animation isn't - it uses quite few frames. The mechanics didn't seem to make much sense to me. Graphic design overall is unappealing.

Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood (wish there were more co-op maps, this one's just great)
Brothers in arms is a truly beautiful game to play in coop.
    2 men, 8 minions and 200 germans.
Renegade ops and Trine 2 are both absolutely charming and elegant. GTA4 coop requires dancing with some serious DRM loops but its a great experience.

My star player is Splinter Cell Conviction. its not actually anywhere as tough as the other games, grabbing 1 guard can grant you an auto kill on as many as 8 more (both mark 4 targets with the fire seven pistol) enamies, you can spray rooms with silence smg's and emp grenades and you can xray vision walls.

Or, set up a coop infiltration mission with boosted security, a 5 minute timer and pistols and no other equipment.

You get to set how rough of a ride you want.
I'm failing to writing a blog, specifically about playing games the wrong way

Dungeon Siege III is a great coop game. I believe it is under rated because it's basically an xbox controller type game.

I wanted to like it. The controls and combat were fairly satisfying, but I couldn't stand the characters and the world was really dull and uninteresting.

I almost said Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs. Death, then threw up a little.

Yeah, it's pretty crappy for story, but it is fun with a friend. Especially with two controllers in the same room.

Actually my recommendation to OP is to alternate between sessions of Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Defenders.

I was just about to suggest Dungeon Defenders, so seconded.

First off, for those that haven't noticed, this is a thread necro, so my list in the OP is wildly out of date.

We've tried Dead Island (love it) and Dungeon Defenders (compares very unfavorably to Sanctum). We own Conviction, and will give it a try when we're done with Dead Island.

You'll need 2 copies of conviction as it lacks split screen.

This thread was never about same-room co-op.

    Gotcha. :)

Yeah, we both have copies, so no problem there.

I can only assume you've played the Portal 2 Co-op.

Only other things I could suggest that haven't been before:

    Quake/Quake2
    Dead Rising 2
    Total War: Shogun 2
    Titan Quest: Immortal Throne
    Saint's Row 2

You could also look forward to Orcs Must Die 2 and Torchlight 2.

And I don't know your position on ME3, but the online coop is pretty fun once you've figured out how it plays.

It's not an FPS but the new DLC for Frozen Synapse released today includes co-op, both online and hotseat. Only one copy of the DLC is required for two people to play with it.

The Medallion of the Imperial Psychopath, a Napoleon: Total War AAR
For the Emperor!, a Total War: Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai AAR
