I look forward very much to a HD remake. It will be the fifth time I buy BG2, but that's okay. Athkatla at 1920x1080 without shrinking everything down to ant size will be worth it.

I will not get my hopes up. I will not get my hopes up. I will NOT get my hopes up.
Maybe if I say it louder I'll start believing it.
Diablo 3 release date and a possible new BG game, I may just shit myself.
HD remake and iPad version seem to be the major rumours, both of which I'd be pretty happy about. I have to admit I never gave BG2 the time it deserved, so I could do with an excuse to go back to it. Avadon played really well on a tablet, and interface-wise, there's not much more that BG requires.
Just got an email from Beamdog, all it says is "Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition: Summer 2012".
Glad to see Beamdog doing alright. That store of theirs is pretty cool.
Yeah, that's the email I got. www.baldursgate.com is down at the moment, so I guess we'll know more soon.
Shall we brainstorm ideas for possible DLC?
HD remake it is. Shame there aren't any details, like whether it's just BG1, or BG1+2, or...?
Nice to see the WotC logo, I suppose. It reminds me that there just might be some hope for future D&D games.
This might lead to me finally succumbing to buying a Baldur's Gate game. I've been half considering it for a while but the fact it will take me an age to complete has always put me off!
Does the boxed edition come with a real life space hamster?
By default I'm quite skeptical about any F2P MMO. And Beamdog have managed to get a license for a single-player non-action RPG, which is a tougher sell.
Not that D&D is the only interesting system out there, nor Forgotten Realms a particularly good setting. But still, it would be nice to eventually get a proper new D&D CRPG.
Need more info! Im more pumped on this than D3! DO we get a new engine? New D&D rules? co-op campaign? INFO!!!!!!!
Is it going to be a purely visual upgrade, or are they going to take a look at any UI or mechanical changes. I don't mean the underlying ruleset or anything, just any weaknesses that existed in the original game(s), including but not limited to bugs, glitches, imbalances, etc.
Never played the games, but despite their reputation I can't imagine that--old as they are--they have the best interfaces ever designed.
I have both of these games in the backlog. It would be a shame for that purchase to go to waste if this update is actually worthwhile. I'll wait for some details, then.
Also, does anyone actually use Beamdog? If so, what are your thoughts? It seems to be a very Steam-like service.
