Vibration feedback in Windows 7 for XP-era peripherals

Er, crikey, that title is a bit of a mouthful...

I have a cheap-but-cheerful Logitech 'Vibration Feedback' (different from Force Feedback, in that it just vibrates rather than has more nuanced directional feedback. Apparently.) wheel. Unfortunately, it seems that devices that vibrated happily under XP don't do so under Windows 7; and there are definitely no updated drivers to enable such.

Does anyone know if there are any 3rd party drivers, etc, that could be used to re-enable vibration on older devices?

Try the solution by "distanthaze" at the top of this page http://www.fixya.com/support/t441626..._2_not_working

There's also the suggestion that this http://download.cnet.com/Copy-of-lgs..._4-186627.html might work.

Former didn't work, but the logitech vista drivers did. Except not in any games, annoyingly. Not sure if it's some vista+ directInput thing? ho hum.
