Track, I did have Pet Sounds on the list at one point. It's fantastic.

Of course all this can change from one moment to another depending on the mood.
Give me steam and how you feel to make it real.
It was the first REM album I heard. Its got this amazing flow to it.
It was a shame that they didn't play any song from that record the last time they were here.
1. Pixies - Doolittle
2. Radiohead - OK Computer
3. Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
4. Champion Jack Du Pree - Anthology of the Blues

7. The Flaming Lips - Embryonic

That was tough, but ask me to justify any of them and I think I'll be able to.

"You go up to a man, and you say, "How are things going, Joe?" and he says, "Oh fine, fine — couldn't be better." And you look into his eyes, and you see things really couldn't be much worse. When you get right down to it, everybody's having a perfectly lousy time of it, and I mean everybody. And the hell of it is, nothing seems to help much." - Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
I would say that I agree with you in principle. They hit the high water mark with OK Computer and Kid A. Since then it's been a downhill slide with a slight upwards blip at Hail to the Thief. What makes them so great when they are at their peak is the richness and texture of their music and the audioscapes that they craft. Not to mention the timing of the release of OK Computer.

Ah, didn't see that. It really is a brilliant album.
Also, although some people do have a tendency overrate Radiohead, I really do think that if any band deserves it at this point, its them. From The Bends to In Rainbows they released nothing but great music, some of it, admittedly, better then the rest, but still thats a great track record.
Ok, fine, I'll bite.
Mogwai - Young Team
Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein
The Delgados - The Great Eastern
The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree
Godspeed You Black Emperor! - Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven...
Radiohead - OK Computer
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
DJ Shadow - Endtroducing
The Weakerthans - Left & Leaving
Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport
...
This will probably be different in fifteen minutes. :(
I didn't mention a Delgados album in my top 10 despite them easily being in my top 10 favourite bands. What am I doing?! I'm going to claim it's because my favourite thing of their is probably their Peel Sessions collection which doesn't strictly count as an album (but is a fantastic document of how they developed as a band while showing they were brilliant at every single stage). Yeah that's my excuse.
if pushed I'd probably say Peleton's my favourite, though I've got a big soft spot for the rough edges of Domestiques.
The first half of this list is albums that shaped my taste or introduced me to a new style of music. I can't even begin to look at them objectively, so I don't know if they are silly or not. I'm still listening to them though, so I must really like them.
The Beatles - White Album
The Guess Who - The Ultimate Collection (a compilation, yeah I went there)
Metallica - ...and Justice For All
Nas - Illmatic
The Dresden Dolls - The Dresden Dolls
My current "Top 5"
Freddie Gibbs - midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik
The Weeknd - Echoes of Silence
Baroness - Red Album
Tennis - Cape Dory
Anathema - Alternative 4
I also am a litttle baffled by the love for Radiohead. I've been told that I need to listen the albums as a whole, but trying that actually made me like their music less. Maybe one day I'll understand what's so great about Radiohead. A lot of my favourite musicians are Radiohead fans too, so I feel like there is something basic I just don't "get".
I think I should replace Magic Potion with Cranberries' "To the faithful departed". How could I forget that album?
That's an interesting choice, most people I know prefer No Need To Argue. Then again, Magic Potion would have been my #11 if there was space, so I just like seeing some love for the Black keys.
I also just realized that I've been lstening to Anathema and Baroness for years now, so they should probably be in the first half of my list. Don't think I'll get tired of them ever. The remaining "Top 3" are still too new to say.
My music taste is fairly mainstream as the following will show:
Level 42 - Any of their albums (just can't decide).
Queen - Innuendo (Has a bit of everything from out and out rock tracks to ballads to just fun songs)
Pink Floyd - The Wall (Difficult choice, but I like the variety of tempo on this album)
Erasure - Light At The End Of The World (A real classic Erasure album, but overlooked by Radio stations)
Manic Street Preachers - Send Away The Tigers (Just love the energy)
U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb (Think it's the bass that on this album that makes it better to my ears)
The Beautiful South - Gaze (Just like it)
Robert Palmer - Honey (Real mix of tempos, and Mr Palmer's best ever song Know By Know)
Simply Red - Stay (A great finale for a band I never took much notice of when they started)
A-Ha - Foot Of The Mountain (Same as above)
Not sure what you'll all make of my list, but all comments welcome.
