I really wish the bundlers would de-emphasize the growing connection between games and music. I have nearly zero interest in soundtracks or indie bands. I feel like I have a nearly endless well of free music through services like Spotify.
Games please. Games got me to look at your bundle and game-type things are what I want in the bundle.
There's a near endless amount of free games available too (Kongregate, Armor Games and so on) so your logic doesn't really pan-out and I like that music and games are coming together - I think it's a good thing for both.
Offering soundtracks makes perfect sense - offering music by unrelated artists is less obvious but given the sums of money we're talking about, complaining about it seems a bit perverse (to say the very least!!) - for less than $6 you get 9 games and some music and you're basically saying "I WANT MORE GAMES" - really??!!
Agree almost totally, but I think he's only saying that they should be focusing on bundling better games (which are the main entree) instead of trying to make up for a poor line-up by bundling an extra large serving of unrelated stuff. I can't disagree with that line of reasoning either.

Bundles are running out of games to include tho - and a lot of gamers actually like game-related music (and chiptunes and dubstep and allsorts of other stuff) so it's a good way of both prolonging the bargains AND bringing new people into gaming.
The BeMine bundles are even driven by someone who seems to primarily deal in music - so it's not just games which are "going for music" - it's going the other way too.
I also like that movies/videos are appearing in some bundles - again it's all part of stopping people thinking of games as childish and 'different' to music or movies whilst also reinforcing the idea that you should - at least in some way - PAY for digital media, instead of just choosing to pay nothing (or pirating it).
Hell I think it's the music which got me into buying IndieGala stuff - in fact I think I mostly buy those FOR the music :)
Aaaaaand a new bundle is on:

Music only. PWYW. Donates to charity. 10 albums + another 5 if you beat the average.

I wasn't really complaining. I love the bundles and think I generally get a great value from them. Also, I love children. My comment was more of a "I wish they went this way" sort of comment instead of a "Goddamn PRICKS shovel trash at me and should DIE!" sort of comment. I have settings I use that aren't either 1 or 10.
All you have to do to relate to my position is imagine something regularly being thrown in as a bundle perk that *you* wouldn't want, trjp. Clearly, since you like the music, music won't work well for this purpose.
What if they threw in bonuses like (hopefully one of these things are something you wouldn't want):
- Classic snippets of BASIC programming
- Photo albums full of ducks with brightly colored moustaches
- Collections of Victorian porn poems
- Coupons for oil changes
- Vanity mounts in MUD's
- A personal letter from a game designer
Hopefully one of the items on my list is something that wouldn't motivate you to make a purchase or "beat the average" in a bundle. Now, replace my comments about music with this thing you don't want.
Oh, and I don't remotely believe that they're running out of games to bundle. Not even close.
I now want this in the next bundle. I don't know why.
I agree with you celt, I not a big fan of the music bonus. I don't for the bonus as I buy for the bundle of games, and a bonus should be that, but it doesn't make me want to BTA as the music isn't exactly related to the games. Some indie band music thats free somewhere else or of the same quality as I can get my going down the road to the club doesn't incentivise me to throw more money at them.
IndieFaceKick posts teaser video for 2nd bundle, will go live on 5/25.

The platformer could be Tompi Jones. And check post #2 for another guess.

Interestingly, GamersGate has added four buttons on their front page to link to different selections. There's one for Offers, Mac, Void (their ad-supported service), and IndieFort - which just connects to their "Indie" genre.
A second bundle has been planned, but I haven't heard anything more about it.

Guess IndieFort is now GamersGate's brand for all things indie instead of just the occasional bundle. They must have been happy with the results of the first one if that's the case. But really, how do you brand your selection of indie games? Is something like that really necessary?
